EDIT: Whoa, my first EQD feature?! Thank you all so much!To those saying that Twilight looks odd, I know. I've never really attempted to draw the female G4 style before as I'm more used to drawing horse-like faces, which is why Shining is more consistent.
Pretty much what Shining Armor suggested when he said that Celestia may let Twilight "Retake the test." How do you retake saving an Empire?

Okay, I'll be blunt. The artwork is terrible. The two of them have really odd proportions, particularly their necks. And the BG is completely featureless, though given that it was in a snowy field, I suppose I can forgive you for that. Not to mention, Twilight's neck seems to stretch several inches in the third panel...
You've got a lot of room for improvement, though admittedly, I'm not a very good artist myself, so maybe I shouldn't be critiquing this...

I'm aware of Twilight's inconsistency. The female G4 ponies are awkward to draw, seeing as I'm more used to drawing horse-like ponies.
However I fail to see your perception of "odd proportions." Thought that just may be seeing that I recently drew this and I'll see my faults a while from now.
But terrible? I'm sorry but if you wanted to be constructive, you should have left that part out.

Hey! Just weighing in here after your conversation. The "odd proportions" might include their head size. I know you're going for a more realistic/reasonable look for them, but check out the relative size and position of their heads to their feet. Then look at the show's relative sizes and positions. That should clear up some questions.
That said, I really like your different style. It's somewhat less ridiculous than that of the show. It gives my eyes a break.

Celestia almost damned the Empire by telling Twilight it was a test. Had Twilight been in a mindset of saving ponies because saving ponies is the right thing to do rather than save ponies so I'll have a shiny A on a piece of paper; she might not have hesitated for so long to give Spike the all-clear, or have taken more backup to search for the heart.

An EMPIRE geographically covers a territory far greater then that of a single city and this my friend was a City-state.

I'm afraid that "Maybe she'll let another city-state helplessly fall" doesn't quite flow as well.
Also seeing as The Crystal Empire is canon and sounds a lot better than The Crystal City-State, I'm gonna go with Empire.
