best be in modo just edge extend it ( e ) then scarle it uniform ( r ) then do it again but with move the ceccond extension up a bit and that should cover all camera angle but not mess with your lighting ,, evel the middlle edge to get it smooth or turbo it

make it bigger, don't scale it, just adjust dimensions so the side edges will no longer show in the camera shot. i am not sure how modo works because i've never used it before, but as far as i know all 3d programs share the same modeling techniques so if that was a poly/mesh or spline you should be able to control vertices and just pull them to the sides without affecting the shape

no worries, i know what a pain it is. i've been waiting for an hour now for my render to finish, i had to redo it a dozen times because of objects not completely aligned to others.

3ds max 2012 for me, and mental ray as render engine.

3ds max is the best , i use it .
but what I love in modo is multi-3d-function + render very good.

i use vue occasionally if i needed an exterior environment, much easier to make it there than use max and i finally finished rendering, wow, it only took forever.
