If you are dividing humor by thinking which is smart and which is stupid instead of basically knowing the actual nonsubjective categories of black, gallows, and other styles of humor... you are all bunch of idiots who tries to look like you are a smart cartoon watcher when you are just a lousy hipster.

No problem. Humor for me can work either way. I don't care if it's dumb or juvenile and if it's smart or manage to get past the censors, that's great. But as long as I get some laughs out of it, it's funny in my book until it ages badly. And if anyone questions my sense or anyone elses cuz they find it the opposite and even go as far as to insult them (unless they're joking, badly or not), then they can piss off if they can't respect other people's tastes.

People can see the difference between smart or stupid humor though, and people generally like it when humor's smart because it actually respects them.

if people want an example of smart humor, I count Gravity Falls in that category. If people want an example of random humor done right, I count Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. TTG is stupid humor and the crew is proud of it

Here's the thing between the two:
With smart comedy, it helps the audience THINK. You know, everyone can find the humor in the joke through clever word play such as the looney tunes or most stand ups, who try and get their audience to think.
STupid humor? Well, this is it in a nutshell: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hV8vNH⦠It's the basis of human comedy (toilet humor mainly) andi t's easy to do and it doesn't take a lot of thinking to do it. Very few can actually pull this off and make it funny, as it's just gonna be seen as juvinile or eye rolling to a lot of people. IF people find it funny, that's fine, but it's kinda juvinile and not in a good way. Kid shows CAN be funny, but they usually do have some clever writers to help.

As far as I'm concerned, there are only 2 types of humor: funny humor and "If you're not the former than you don't deserve to be called 'humor'" humor.

If the joke ends up being funny, then it counts as humor.
If it's not, then it's a smug douchebag who thinks that saying something dark and rude is automatically funny.
Kinda like this one guy I knew who, and I wish I was making this up, made a joke about how my other friend's grandpa died of a heart attack.

Well, Looney TunesΒ is "smart" humor. Family Guy would be "stupid" humor (as well as those YouTube videos that get many views quickly).
