I'm really late to this whole Spider-Man debacle but I wanted to throw my two cents into the bucket on the issue. It sucks that Sony and Disney are doing this to Spider-Man but it is what it is. Leaving it on such a big cliff hanger instead of just allowing Marvel to do one more movie to tie up all the loose ends would have been so nice but that can't happen. Ideally, this was going to set up for a story line similar to Kraven's last hunt which is one of the top tier Spider-Man comics in recent memory and Kraven could have been an excellent villain. However, this also does allow Spider-Man to leave and then if he returns, he has a reasonable explanation that he's been hiding with the identity stuff.
Now that Sony has Spider-Man, they want to do the Venom crossover which is fine. The Venom movie was good when it focused on Eddie and Venom, lets just forget about the horrible villain...... The idea of Woody Harrison as Carnage is alright I suppose, He's a good actor but I feel that he might be a little bit too old for the role. However, I do see Sony ending up with egg on the face when their Spider-Man movies are completed and it sucks. Whilst Holland's Spider-Man and Hardy's Venom will work really well, I don't see Leto's Morbius working at all. To me, it's just a lack of interest. To add onto this, I believe that Sony are going to sacrifice character development for theatrics. Essentially, none of Holland's character building will matter and Sony are going to try hammer in the Sinister Six as soon as possible and it's going to lead to the same issues that ended Garfield and Maguire's bits as Spider-Man. During this time, I believe that Marvel and Disney will continue to grow and will eventually scoop up the Spider-Man rights for a nice price once the movies don't make as much as Sony want. I also feel that Disney are going to get those Hulk rights from Universal to complete their collection.
So, with Spider-Man existence in the MCU gone for now, it opens up a new slot for the next big three. We already knew that Spider-Man and Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel were going to be this new trio but now it really opens the spot for Black Panther to take over the third spot. As well as this, I hope the side characters like Ned and MJ stay around with Holland. I hated Zendaya in Homecoming but she was so much better in Far From Home.

Venom was a fluke cause everyone thought they would try and put him into the MCU,Spiderverse worked cause Sony didn't care about it and weren't really involved and the sequel probably won't be as great cause for one Sony will be more involved ie Avi Arad... and the og team has dispanded already,Venom will suffer from the debacle as well as probably not being as popular as the first think of It Chapter 2 for instance compared to the original and how it performed,so basically Spiderman is screwed for now and man did I want Scorpion bad but hey its mostly Sony's fault cause they didn't just refuse any attempt disney made at making a new deal which makes sense since they make the movies and Kevin Feige even devoted time to make their films good even being an unnamed producer but Sony didn't want to make a deal period which means they were gonna ride the popularity of the MCU especially after Endgame and we saw how it panned out in FFH as it made a billion so it's just unfortunate and you can hate disney for being the top dog but Sony is mostly to blame for this situation and I feel it's going to blow up in there faces I especially can't stand these Sony fanboys saying spiderman is home now and won't be iron man Jr (which if you saw FFH they'd know that is pretty much dealt with. ..)yeah he got to meet the rest of the marvel universe for a few films that was soooo terrible btw atleast Universal is playing ball with the Hulk and probably Namor characters now with She Hulk being announced atleast they know pleasing the fans is better than killing the characters for profit.

True. universal will most likely give up the rights if they were given a good offer. Universal are more focused on making their monster universe.

I donβt know, I just donβt think I trust Sony with Spider-Man. Sony always ruins movies once they get involved in everything. Happened with Maguire, with Garfield, and probably holland now. Which sucks, because I really like him as Spider-Man,

I really don't trust them either. They never learn from their mistakes and just try to jam the sinister six as soon as possible with no character build-up. Yeah, shame for Holland, he's the best Spider-Man out of the three and he is really getting screwed in this. Spiderverse's success got to their heads even if the movie was extremely overrated.

Right?! They just suck at doing it well. I mean sure, Spiderverse isnβt groundbreaking, but I just enjoyed it so much. For me, it was too much fun to watch. And it did so well because Sony didnβt get their dirty hands on the movie. Canβt say that about the sequel though...

I know they plan on a spin-off with three spider girls, but Iβm also certain they want a straight up sequel down the line

Your interest depends on how much you enjoyed the movie. I liked it a lot, so any sort of additions to the story are greatly appreciated. For you, I can see why you donβt care as much since it doesnβt sound like you liked the movie all that much.

I still Believe Kraven will be the villain, the only thing changed will be the MCU cuts. It'll be awkward, but not totally weird.

Honestly donβt think theyβll use kraven. Probably will do Doc Ock or Green Goblin.

True. Yeah I was thinking that based on his looks that he could work well. Plus he seems to have the character down.
