an Uchiwa is a fan used in Japanese culture, if im not mistaken. Kishi made the "Uchiha's" because of their affinity to fire. And Uchiwa is used to "fan the flames", so thats probably why Kishi called them the "Uchiha's."

well probably I can't approve because I'm not english (sorry for my bad english) but nevertheless... on all english web-sites I saw name "Sasuke Uchiha" and I have never seen "Sasuke Uchiwa" О_о and therefore I noticed this name on picture... besides in anime his name sounds as "Sasuke Uchiha"

well in the anime they spell it uchiha and in one ep they made a mistake lol and wrote it uchicha lmao which is quiet funny as they didn't notice spelling it wrong xDDD

In my language some stupid people spell "uzumaki" how "uDzumaki" O_o... Do you watch Death Note? May be you can explain me why in anime "light" became "raito"???

Yeah, it is Uchiha. Uchiwa means paper fan, but Uchiha is fire fan. Like the emblem thingy on Sasuke's back in the first season.
