Description
Scar had grown tired of all his mating attempts being failures. He wasn't kidding when he told Mufasa he was at the shallow end of the gene pool, almost all of his mates had yet to become pregnant and if they did it didn't last very long. Scar had decided that he would choose his own heir. He had 4 male cubs to choose from as well. There was Malka, Sarabi's nephew, Chumvi, and Sarafina's two boy Tojo and Mheetu.
He'd decided to spend time with each of them, of course Malka was the most stubborn and loyal to his mother's family. Chumvi was too goofy and Scar had little patience for him. Tojo was too accident prone so now he was down to the youngest. Mheetu.
He had Shenzi and the hyenas take him away from Sarafina so he could speak with the cub. Mheetu entered the cave scared and nervous. Scar took notice to how much he looked like his mother, the one who had broken his heart so many seasons ago...
"Mheetu, I'm sure you know why your here. And I want you to know something. Your different than the other cubs. You, boy, are special."
"I am?" Mheetu asked nervously as Scar circled him like a shark.
"Yes," Scar said. "You are very much like me, you weren't born to be king but you have an opportunity to be. And I see potential in you, Mheetu." Scar did see potential but it was more because of the fact that Mheetu was still so young and his mind would be more easily corrupted than the other boys who had grown up under Mufasa's reign.
"I think you could even be king when I join the great Kings of the Past someday..."
"Me... as king?" Mheetu was both terrified and intrigued by the idea.
"Yes, and all you have to do, is follow me... As if you were my own son." Scar smiled down at the blue eyed cub, and Mheetu smiled back. Scar saw the beginning of his future prodigy...
