A small commemorative painting of my departed crowntail betta who died a few months ago and whom I still miss. Based off of a sketch I did some weeks ago. Also used this as an opportunity to test out my new scanner, and I love it.Tumblr

My betta Mario is still hanging on. He's probably more than 2 years old now, but he has a very very very bad habit of biting his own fins. Tried everything, there's a slight reflection covered, light on, and light off. He barely has any tail fins now. Over the 2 years I've had him, he's survived ick, chronic fin rot, bloat (every few months), popeye, so I'm just praying every day he hangs on. But I still love him.

He lives by himself in a 5 gallon tank with lots of plants and I give him attention every day! Mine has survived literally every betta disease and still "thriving" so I hope yours get better too!!Β
50% water change every few days and aquarium salt!!Β

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FISHΒ
I had a halfmoon that died a month ago and my veiltail died this morning (i was gone for a long while and trusted others who didn't really care about the fish)
I still miss my Reuben (orange pineapple halfmoon) very much as well :0(

Aw, I'm so sorry for your loss. :< He sounded like a beautiful fish. I get more attached to my bettas than my other tank of community fish, probably because of their distinct personalities / habits. My husband got me a new crowntail for my birthday, so he's helped fill the hole left behind.
