Description
Conteste byFor this moment, I choose Sleepwalker, because he's my favorite and I like his tiny friends
The context : after a battle, he trying to save one of his friend, but yes, number 4 is dead, or very broken ...
For me, Sleepwalker can be a good soldier, with no pity, but ... He can have sensibility, and trying to do every things to save one of his friend ...
This my point of view when I see him, sorry if isn't his true personality, and if the scene broke your heart ...
______________

I am impressed by what a good sense of highlights and shadows you depict in your watercolor works, aptly demonstrated here with this figure with all their mechanized components casting their own shadows and highlights. Truly well done and good luck with the contest!

Thanks you so much !!!
That was a real challenge for me, never drawing a complex design in watercolor, afraid by the mistake who can destroy all of the work ! ( the tip of the brush too thick, ( too much water, forget the zone highlight .. lot of little problems
)
I know there are wrong shading somewhere, but the result stay good !

I hear you. It's always that daunting fear of having to start all over again and wasting perfectly good paper to hold one back. I hear though that the best way to render details, especially traditionally is to work larger, like instead of working on a 9x12 sheet, go 18x24. Although the problem with larger works... gets harder to document online, unless you also happen to be pretty savvy with a camera and image editing tools.
As for the shading... if I had to pinpoint something off it would probably be the ambiguity of the lighting in the room behind him and the saturation of the ceiling and floor matching a tad too closely to the main figure, causing them to sort of exist on the same plane. This can be resolved any number of ways from creating a more dramatic lighting situation to making the background or character (not both) significantly more textured and desaturated than the other and thus creating a focal point where you want to draw the viewer's attention. Desaturating the background definitely could be an easy fix here, but not to worry. I think it looks fine as is, but definitely something to experiment with in the future.

Yeah, true ! But here it's a basic format of paper, not a big ! And with my camera ( not the camera of the phone, a true camera X'3 ) is not easy to frame it, alway a part who is not on the screen of the camera
. .. Again little problems X') . .
It was my problem, where but the light source ?! In front of him was the easier solution for me, I'm not again an expert in lighting, mostly one a paper, can't erase or move sheet like the digital art . .
At the beginning, I wanted to put the wall, floor and ceiling in this dark purple, but ... the risk to see nothing !!
And thanks for your advices, I'll trying to apply it !

Merci :') ...
