Casey and Illyana had spent the whole
day together and Casey had noticed her
friend was acting unusually friendly today
which was really unlike her.

"'Yana, what's going on? are you alright?" Casey asked,
hoping to spark a sarcastic reaction from her friend for shortening
her name.

"I'm fine, Casey, thank you." Illyana replied.

Casey was taken back by her friends reaction and she knew then
that she wasn't fine and she had to find out what the problem was
now.

"no, don't give me that. just...don't. you haven't been mean to me all day
and this is really unlike you. now what's really going on?" Casey asked, more
seriously this time.

Illyana sighed, taking Casey's hands and looking into her eyes. "alright, you want to know what's
going on? I love you, Casey. I'm sorry it took me so long to admit that."

Casey shook her head, releasing from Illyana's hands, tears forming and flowing down her cheeks,
her face going cherry red.

"what took you so long? why? I admitted that to you so long ago...but you...why, Illyana?" Casey asked, her voice
full of pain and sadness.

"I'm sorry, Casey...I didn't want to hurt you." Illyana replied, holding Casey in her arms,
letting her cry.
