Description
Yesterday, I showed you guys all the VHS tapes and the sole DVD I managed to pick up throught the time since the last update. Here we are today, the 31st, and boy do I have a spooky update for you all to look at. Well, not really, but seeing as how the "spooky" label fits because it IS Halloween day, whatever. Anyway, enough of me rambling and onto the CDs. Keep in mind these explanations are purposely short.BEARTOOTH Disease
Picked up at Target when it came out. Very good album from the post-hardcore/metalcore band and probably their best to date.
FAILURE Comfort
Bought at Book Off along with the following seven albums. Failure is the orginal project of Ken Andrews who was in bands like On and Year Of The Rabbit and is also a album producer. This is their first album from 1992.
MEGADETH Countdown To Extinction
So I finally got another Megadeth album that isn't "Dystopia". That's pretty cool. There is a lot from Megadeth I'm meaning to buy and hopefully that happens soon.
UB40 Labour Of Love
Another one of those "new-wave" albums I checked out and wanted to get. I was sold after hearing the song "Red Red Wine", which I believe is a cover.
LIVE Mental Jewelry
Here is another debut album in Live's "Mental Jewelry". This album would eventually lead to "Throwing Copper" which is perhaps their most well known album followed by several others, including "Local 717" which recently came out.
REM New Adventures On Hi-Fi
As if I wasn't buying REM enough, here is "New Adventures In Hi-Fi", the followup to 1994's "Monster". There is still a ton of REM albums I need to make sure I buy so stick around for future updates to see if I pick those up.
U2 No Line On The Horizon
And continuing with that theme, we have two U2 albums, which now totals to 10 albums fron this band I have in my collection. First is "No Line On The Horizon", their 2009 release and the third album they put out in the 2000's aside from some greatest hits stuff.
U2 Pop
Second is "Pop", their album from 1997 that was more experimental than their music in the 1980's, carrying an electronic dance vibe like "Achtung Baby" and "Zooropa" before it. Well, I can honestly say I won't be quitting buying U2 albums anytime soon.
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Tiny Music... Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop
Here is an album I have been meaning to pick up because I am still set on getting the entire Stone Temple Pilots discography. This is their third album obviously, not as successful as "Core" or "Purple" but still noticrable in its own right.
COUNTING CROWS Recovering The Satellites
I picked this album up at the Savers where I live. This is one of those albums I see all the time on the shelves but never got the chance to pick up until now. Hopefully more of this band's albums will come into my collection.
TREMONTI A Dying Machine
Next up is the Second Spin trip which saw five albums enter my library of music, including this one. This is the latest from Tremonti, and it's still a very good album. Haven't revisited this album as much, but I still enjoy it. "All I Was" is still my favorite album from this project.
DROWNING POOL Full Circle
Like with Crossfade and Finger Eleven in the last update, I have not bought a Drowning Pool disc in years. Seven to be exact. With "Full Circle", I now own three of their albums and all of the Ryan McCombs era material.
THRICE The Illusion Of Safety
I am so stoked to finally have this in my collection. Been looking for it for a while. After hearing the excellent "Palms" back in September, I am now dead set on getting the whole Thrice discography.
THE MARS VOLTA Noctourniquet
Yet another Mars Volta album which makes four albums total I own from this group. My next pickup from this band will likely be "Deloused In The Comatorium" even though there is a copy of "Bedlam In Goliath" at the Second Spin location I often go to.
ALICE IN CHAINS Sap
Here is the second release from Alice In Chains, which is an EP. I am also dead set on collecting more albums from Alice In Chains especially after loving this year's "Rainier Fog".
DISTURBED Evolution
Picked up at Wal-Mart because I wanted the deluxe edition and I knew they weren't going to sell it at Target. I am really liking this album as it is very different obviously with the whole "evolution" thing. Some familiarity but also some stuff you wouldn't expect. This deluxe package includes two bonus cuts and a live version of "Sound Of Silence" with Myles Kennedy.
GODSMACK Icon Compilation
Just a compilation of Godsmack hits under the "Icon" package to hold me over until I get "1000HP" for a good deal. Also got this at Wal-Mart for $5.00.
RUSH The Spirit Of Radio: Greatest Hits
My first experience buying a Rush album, although it is a hits compilation. I have this tremd where I pick up a hits compilation of a band first, then the studio albums. It happened with U2, The Police, and a few others, and now here it is happening with Rush. I am going to pick up what I can from Rush's studio album discography due to the fact that I've heard about them for years but never got around to picking up their albums until now.
3 DOORS DOWN Another 100 Miles
On my final CD buying trip in October, I went to the Salvation Army and picked up the following three things. This 3 Doors Down live album starts it off. Before you hate on me, I do enjoy some 3 Doors Down stuff but screw Todd Harrell for the trouble he's caused.
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS Scar Tissue Single
Here is something interesting I managed to get as well. This is a CD single and I don't believe I have ever got one outside of the Best Buy CD singles they used to sell. Also, I have never owned a CD with this packaging beforeΒ It is a digipak looking case with a tray that slides out to reveal the disc inside. Features a couple of bonus songs not found on "Californication".
SELTZER: MODERN ROCK TO SETTLE YOUR SOUL
Finally here is a Christian rock music sampler from the 1990s. I've seen this in a ton of places (let's face it, thrift stores LOVE Christian music which doesn't bother me at ALL), so I decided to pick it up. Similar tactics were used in picking up the Counting Crows album. I also saw that album in a ton of thrift stores/used CD stores and so I decided to pick it up.
So, that's all I guess. And happy Halloween everybody. I will see you in the next update.

I won't be hating on you, I love 3 Doors Down That "Another 700 Miles" EP is great, I love their "That Smell" cover! Some of 3DD's slow songs are bit too poppy-sounding for me but I enjoy pretty much most of their stuff, especially their first album, "The Better Life", that's when they had a good grungy hard rock sound
