Description
Here it is, the one you've all been waiting for. This is my CD, DVD, and VHS update for late January and the entirety of February. As you can see, there is a lot of stuff (not including the Lady And The Tramp Signature Edition I just revealed). So, let's get right into it. I will start with the music first. There are 19 total CDs to talk about.......................................
NORMA JEAN The Anti-Mother
I picked this up because of Chino Moreno of the Deftones' involvement on some of the tracks, particularly "Surrender Your Sons". Also, the former lead vocalist of Saosin (Cove Reber) is also involved, which was something I didn't know until reading the liner notes. My first Norma Jean CD, but admittedly I haven't spent as much time with the tracks from this album other than "Self-Employed Chemist". Picked up at Second Spin on a Costa Mesa trip.
ASKING ALEXANDRIA Asking Alexandria
My first Asking Alexandria album that I found at Wal Mart for around $9 to $10. I did a Status Review of the album and stated that it was actually pretty good, hence me picking it up in the first place. For those wanting the heavier Asking Alexandria, you will probably be very disappointed, but for optimistic listeners who like tracks that have a seamless flow, you'll enjoy it. The digipak is very glossy and looks very nice.
WAVORLY Conquering The Fear Of Flight
Picked this up at a thrift store in Costa Mesa along with another CD and a VHS you will hear being talked about later on. This abum was produced by Rob Graves and I'm familiar with some of the songs on this album, particularly "Madmen" and "Praise And Adore" as they were in rotation on Air1 and SiriusXM back during my Christian Rock phase, so I picked this up based off of that.
HASTER The Current Sea
It's here where I feel that sometimes I'm a lucky music consumer. Haster is a band that has been around for a while with three albums, this one being their latest from 2016. Basically, if you like nu-metal with some uniqueness to it, you'll enjoy these guys, and that's what "The Current Sea" has to offer. I knew that this was sold as a physical CD, but I didn't think I would ever come across this album on a Second Spin shelf because underground bands like this don't travel very far past their website and Amazon. However, this was somehow on the shelf and I could not pass it up. If you remember from my last update, I also found the Nothing More album "The Few Not Fleeting" at a thrift store which is very rare to come by unless you go to a concert. So, this is a very worthy addition to the collection indeed. The digipak also looks nice as well.
PINK FLOYD Dark Side Of The Moon
I am starting to get into buying Pink Floyd albums as well as a multitude of other classic bands' albums, so the obvious first choice was "Dark Side Of The Moon". I believe this version was pressed around 1992-1995, so obviously this isn't one of the newer pressings of the album because I don't think it would be right to start off with a remastered 2011 version of a classic album. So, I went for an older pressing, and I found this one. The triangle with the rainbow going through it on the cover looks a little different than the one people are most likely used to seeing everywhere.
DAYS OF THE NEW Days Of The New II
Found this at Second Spin as well. Got interested in these guys thanks to Rocked Reviews and his ATF review of the band's first album.
TOTO Isolation
So FINALLY I have this CD in my collection, and believe it or not, this was ordered off of Amazon. Every subsequent time I attempted to find this CD after getting six of Toto's first seven albums plus their latest "Toto XIV", this was nowhere in sight. It was always the band's greatest hits compilations or other songs compilations not made by the band themselves. So, I had to order this on Amazon, and believe it or not, this was an unopened copy. Don't know why this album is so difficult to come by in actual stores. Maybe because one of the singers on this album was kicked out or something, but that's a pretty weak explanation. Oh well, at least I can finally move on to acquiring other Toto albums, including their most recent hits compilation "40 Trips Around The Sun", which just got put out earlier this month.
SMASHING PUMPKINS Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness
This was the other album I found at the thrift store I bought the Wavorly album at. Of course, it's their iconic double album featuring hits like "1979" and "Tonight Tonight". Usually, whenever you come across a double album, it's always so pricey due to the fact that it's two discs in one, and used copies are usually about as much as new copies of one disc albums. However, I got this for a deal at only $2.00, probably the best deal on this album anywhere.
KJ52 Remixed
I have a story attached to this, so please listen up. Back when I was 10-12 years old, I was a major rap fan and I really enjoyed this guy's work, particularly albums like "It's Pronounced Five Two", "Behind The Muzik: A Boy Named Jonah", and this album, a remix album where he took some of his songs from previous efforts and altered them with some new verses and different soundscapes attached to them. Also, some bonus tracks off of the deluxe edition of the "Behind The Muzik" album are featured here, those being the collaboration with Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch "Run For Cover", a song about his MTV exposure entitled "Washed Up", and a song about Napoleon Dynamite. Very interesting (no I didn't get "Napoleon Dynamite" on VHS or DVD, heck, I'm not even that interested in buying that movie anyway). But, I did get this album, and it is somewhat part of my childhood and there is also some rock music featured including another collaboration with the guys in the band Falling Up. Another good thing is that I found this for $1.00 at Second Spin, so, dibs.
AUDIOSLAVE Revelations
This is another sigh of relief for me, considering I've been trying to hunt a copy of this album down for years, with frontman Chris Cornell's death in 2017 really amplifying that up to a million. Now, I can finally say I own every Audioslave album (I don't think there is a Greatest Hits or a compilation album, I could be wrong). Next up is getting the rest of the Soundgarden discography and the entirety of Chris Cornell's solo discography.
TRIVIUM Shogun
I ordered this on Amazon along with some other albums on today's list. After adoring "The Sin And The Sentence" enough to place it at #5 on my favorite albums of 2017 list, I am now officially turned onto seeking out the band's other works as well, and I randomly chose "Shogun". Very good album from Trivium.
STAVESACRE Speakeasy
This album was found at the Book Off in Costa Mesa, another used music store that also carries books and movies and Japanese stuff (more on that later). Stavesacre is a more alternative rock band that was much more active in the 90's and the 2000's, this being their most notable album. Notice that it's a digipak release, and Book Off usually tapes the CDs shut with a piece of Scotch tape that is left on due to the fact that if I pulled it off, the cover art would be partially ripped. Nice job, guys. That was sarcasm by the way. But, still, pretty cool find.
TONIGHT ALIVE Underworld
Another CD that was ordered through Amazon, but this time it's a new release. Me and my brother known as Kylerainbowdash here on Deviantart both enjoy this band, so we both have this album in our collections. I also reviewed this album as one of my first 2018 music reviews, so, if you want more info on my opinion about the album, follow the link below:

311 Uplifter
Slowly but surely picking up the rest of 311's rather large discography. Now, I just need to get their first two albums, as well as the two that came before "Mosaic".
THE CLASSIC CRIME Vagabonds
Another Second Spin purchase and the third Classic Crime album I own. I don't know if I will get their independent stuff that came after this album's release, but, I'll consider it.
THRICE Vheissu
This was also purchased at Book Off, and this was an album I previously checked out at a library near where I live in 2011 or so, but never owned until now. Includes "Image Of The Invisible", which I am pretty sure most people probably know.
GOOD TIGER We Will All Be Gone
The second album on our list that was a new CD that I ordered. Since Best Buy will probably not care about minor bands like this until they stop selling CDs in July, I knew I was probably going to have to order this online, and so I did. Another good looking digipak that's also pink in color so it really stands out in my collection (in a good way, of course). More information regarding my opinion on the album can be looked into if you follow this link:

EDGEWATER We're Not Robots
I ordered this album as I have just learned that the band's lead singer Matt Moseman died of complications from a stroke last year. Also, I was after this album for a long time because it isn't available on Spotify and was wanting to listen to it there, and the only way to do that is to rip the CD onto my old computer and put the files on a USB flash drive in order to send them onto my laptop where I mainly listen to music. Don't know if I will ever get the band's independent releases before "South Of Sideways", but you never know what you'll come across at any used store or thrift store.
STRAIGHT LINE STITCH When Skies Wash Ashore
Finally, in the CD section, we have another one I was wanting for the longest time and I finally owned it. Basically, Straight Line Stitch is a heavier Sevendust with a female vocalist, and their material is actually very good. Already own their 2011 album "The Fight Of Our Lives", but was missing this one which has some of my favorite songs from the band like "Taste Of Ashes" and "What You Do To Me", so I ordered it.
......................................
Alright, now, onto the VHS tapes and the DVD. Keep in mind that some of these were shown on my Twitter account before being shown on this update. So, if you follow me on Twitter, you've seen some of these before.
THE BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER TO THE RESCUE 1999 VHS
Picked this up because I really liked the cat character Maisie in this movie. I'm also interested in getting the other "Brave Little Toaster" movies on VHS, especially if it's the 1991 VHS of the first film.
BUGS BUNNY BIG TOP BUNNY 1999 VHS
I'm slowly but surely adding some Looney Tunes videos to my collection, this one I think is a compilation of short films that are circus-themed. Also, comes with some sort of cardboard picture frame with Bugs Bunny on it, so, that's a plus.
BUZZ LIGHTYEAR OF STAR COMMAND 2000 VHS
Remembered this from looking at VHS papers in the 2000's and wanted to get more Toy Story related VHS tapes, so, picked it up. I think this is the pilot to the short lived TV series.
DISNEYLAND SOUVENIR VHS FROM 1990S
A rarity that I found while searching the Angel View that I live closest to in January. Includes some odd looking FBI warnings at the beginning.
DUMBO JAPANESE VHS
Remember when I mentioned Book Off back when we were talkiing about the CDs? Well, Book-Off is a Japanese company, indicated by the fact that video games are a huge market there and they also sell some mangas and I've even seen some anime figurines there. They also sell VHS tapes in the back, and I found this rarity during my latest trip. I was further sucked in due to the fact that the Dumbo drawing looks so adorable, and I wish it was used on the American VHS releases, but, everything is fine the way it is. I will definitely be searching for more foreign VHS tapes and releases. If you remember, I also have the Spanish version of "The Lion King" on VHS as well.
LADY AND THE TRAMP 2 2001 VHS
Of course EVERYBODY probably knows about this tape by now. I bought a second copy due to the fact that there were some promo booklets and papers inside. A lot of you probably know that this is one of my Top 5 favorite movies of all time, so, I don't need to go into much detail about this one.
LION KING 1 1/2 VHS
Here's another one I don't need to go into a lot of detail about. This also had some papers inside, which is always a treat for me, so I purchased it. I don't really care for this movie as much as the first one, but I don't need to go into detail why. Just know that I wanted to have all of the "Lion King" movies on VHS.
THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK 1998 VHS
This was the tape purchased at the thrift store I went to in Costa Mesa. Comes with a cool 3D lenticular card with a dinosaur on it, which drew me in closer.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 1996 VHS
Bought this because I knew that the new film was coming out this summer.
OLIVER AND COMPANY 2009 DVD
Picked this up at Best Buy for a great deal of $7.00. This was also around the time they were running a Valentines' Day promotion which is what usually happens with DVDs and Blu-Rays around that time, so, I figured it was finally the right time for me to get this edition.
PINOCCHIO 1986 VHS
As I have officially quit looking for other Classics editions on eBay due to me finding so many of them at thrift store visits, I knew I was going to find this variation of "Pinocchio" someday, and low and behold, this shows up at Book Off. What is well known about this tape is that this release contains the red FBI warning that look sort of like the green and blue ones from the 1990's, followed by a video dealer announcement, and the Classics logo that freezes for a little bit after playing all of the way through. I mentioned when I got the Classics release of "Sleeping Beauty" on VHS that I wanted a tape that had these things at the beginning, and now I can finally say I have one in my collection. The only ones I need to get as part of the Classics series is the 1986 release of "Robin Hood" and the demo tapes of "Fox And The Hound" and "The Rescuers". Also, wouldn't mind finding the "Pinocchio" demo tape from 1992/1993.
SO DEAR TO MY HEART 1992 VHS
Another film I bought based off of one cute character, that being the sheep who I think is named Danny. I don't know, I've never seen this movie before, so hopefully, I'll get the chance one day.
STAR WARS 1995 VHS
Finally, we have another iconic tape in the form of "Star Wars". This is of course the release that came in the box set with the original trilogy of "Star Wars" films. I hope to get the releases of "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return Of The Jedi" from this box set as well because I'm pretty much aware that thrift stores will often sell them separately. Also, I kinda want the first release of this film as well.
......................................
So, that's pretty much it. Hope you stayed along with me up to this point, and I hope you enjoyed this update. Take care.

If you're able to get a capturing device, would you please send me a download link to the entire version of the "Dumbo" Japanese VHS tape? I would REALLY like to see the entire movie in Japanese

I highly suggest getting the first film. It's the best of The Brave Little Toaster movies.

"South Of Sideways". Both are pretty good, though I only kinda know "Get It Right" from "We're Not Robots".
Really? None of these CDs other than one? I figures you'd probably have more since I've seen you CD collection deviations. Not to say I know entirely the contents of your CD shelves, since I really don't, but I thought there was more.
