Description
Something just for fun. It's a cheap trick, but sometimes you can get some really interesting stuff. Might post a few more.
Downtown Orlando, Florida
UPDATE:
Shot Details:
Simple really. Put my camera onto a tripod in the back seat area of my car. Made sure the tripod legs were spread out as wide as they could go; for stability. Mounted on cam is my 14-24mm f2.8 Nikkor lens; set to 14mm. I set the camera on a 15 second time lapse, and put the exposure settings to manual with a long exposure. Also set the focus to manual, and guessed at what might be a good focal distance. Set it and forget it. Originals shot in RAW.
After a few test shots to verify that I got the exposure settings where I want and I was happy with the focus, I just took off for a ride. I headed downtown on a Saturday night, and let the camera do it's thing.
Tweaked for color, white balance and slight exposure in Lightroom and a minor dust removal in a spot or two in Photoshop. Done.

that is a great fun shot. cool that you could keep the camera still enough to keep some elements sharp against the dramatic color blur on the ceiling. nice.

Keeping the camera stable actually wasn't too difficult. The camera was mounted on a tripod sitting in the backseat area of the car, with the tripod legs spread out as wide as they can go for stability. Still I had to be easy on the sharp turns as I didn't have the tripod weighted or tied down. If the road is smooth enough then everything inside the car should be sharp enough.

Love it! The colors are perfect, and I could feel the movement in the photograph.
