Description I Hate missionairies.
I greatly disliked my snobby classmates who were always putting me down.
I hated my senior prom.
I still hate my period.
I LOVE the the 1976 movie Carrie, starring Sissy Spacek.

Carrie has got to be my favorite horror movie. It really rides with how I felt during my days of public school. things actually got better in high school, though not very much, and I was almost completely ostracized in elementry and middle school.
All those school shows that show kids hanging out, going places, having parties... I hate those. 'Specially the romance ones. I have still yet to be kissed.
So I really understand Carrie. Of course, my resentment of the repressive conservative christian tradition does play out with my love of this movie.
It's not that I support killing all your classmates with the power ofone's mind... I just understand the things that cause kids to snap like that.

Columbine was scary, I remember that. Kids like me were going out and blindly shooting at their peers.
Kids who wern't accepted, wern't allowed to join in, who were teased and put down. It really is scary to think about it.
I think Carrie was the story of Columbine before Columbine happened.
With telekinesis and a bucket of pigs blood, of course.

Carrie's mom really, really struck a corde with me. Not that my folks were like that, but my folks have been treated badly when I was young. we seperated from churches all together some years back. Christian churches far before then.
Of course my grandpa, the venerable Rev. Ervin, says that churches are about community more than anything else, and this whole "church shopping" thing really takes away from the true meaning of being part of a parish.
Not that I dislike my grandpa (here we get to the sticky part people don't usually get about me), or his vocation. I respectmy grandpa, and he is a wonderful rev, which I know because people still say that they miss having him as a rev, and even still have him do weddings. He's an old shriner too. Yeah, those old guys with the funny fezs.
It's not the religion, it's not christians, it's the idea that some christians hold that you are not a worthwhile person unless you've washed your sins in the blood of Jesus. (Carrie reference once again)

I actually talked to this Christ's Ambassador (aka, junior missionary), She and I had met at a genocide awareness program and started talking. She actually tried to convert me by saying that an impure person canno stand before a pure and perfect god because the pure and impure do not mix, and the only way for god to overlook ourimperfections is for us to be covered in christ's blood because it masks our faults.
I'm sorry, but I remain unconvinced.
Atleast that sort of explains why a lot of christians make such good horror writers. You want the bloody, disgusting, immoral, frightening and just plain wrong, look in the bible.
Sheesh.

Wow, I could go on and on (and I have) about why Carrie is my favorite movie, but I doubt you need any more. I'll just say this then. It's pretty funny, it's incredibly beautiful, it has a young John Travolta, and all girls have a Carrie hiding inside of them.

I blame the mother for it all. Just because it's not in the Bible, doesn't make it evil and how she raised and treated Carrie, now those are sins.

I hated Carrie's mother because she punishes Carrie for thing's she cant control. She punishes her for getting her period when its completely normal and for having breasts when it all goes back to Margret just being completely sex deprived, in denial in ruining her relationship with her mother and husband and jealous of Carrie's youth and that she has a chance of love and uses the bible as her weapon and shield.

She deserved her death especially by Carrie who she tortured since the day she was born.

Back in 1999 two kids walked into Columbine High school and shot twelve of their fellow students dead.

I agree with that last quote.I do have a Carrie inside of me,and it shows a LOT.I'm a great horror/macabre artist(or so I'm told),and I've been told that if I'm around four or so insults,I'm homicide without a weapon.

This is the most epic carrie fanart i have seen. I also fucking hate the shows where kids
are in school the storylines are terrible
unrealistic bullshit.
dull characters etc.
>: sight i hate when people don't get high school right.
butt carrie had high school right <:.
i really liked the revenge scene it was so epic.
i wanted to the same thing as carrie did.
Kids now adays are gonna die because of a nosebleed.

Never in my life would I meet someone who had the exact same thoughts on the film that I have. Especially of "Carrie" as a pre-Columbine. I did that subject for a Speech Communications class. Margaret White also had that effect on me. Even though nothing in my mom was like that, but the shift I can feel. All of this certainly has brought back these memories of how I felt for this movie.

It's a very powerful film. I think any post-pubescent girl can find something there that they can connect to.

I once knew a girl like that too. Very sensitive girl. PMS does that to people. And some gals never seem to get off it.

Sounds like an interesting movie, but I really can't handle horror films anymore unfortunately...perhaps I'll end up watching it for the comedy though ^_^
I'm really not a 'party, going out, and costant new boyfriends' girl. So I do go to parties every once in a while (Both family and/or friends). I don't believe in treating people badly just because they don't fit in and I'm pretty shy and seemingly isolated unless I'm around friends. I'm also not a good arguer unless I'm positvely furious. I'm not too clever either, just a little smarter then my average fellow student at school. I have yet to recieve the first kiss as well, though I have many opportunities often shoved in my face I haven't met the right person. The one guy I loved changed and I'm not interested anymore so...
*Cough*
Sorry about that, I kinda got carried away, it jsut feels so much better when I talk about problems with a friend who can relate ^_^

I know. You notice how so many of my journals goon and on?

Sometimes it's hard to find people who understand you. Of course, I think usually it's just hard to talk about those things with people. With my best friends, we spend so much time on the subject of cartons and comics, we never talk about ourselves. But that's nice too.

I don't think Carrie is that scary. Well, I'm a full-time horror fan, not that much really scares me these days.
Other than dating, job-hunting and new roommates of course.
