Idea is mine, though based on the Tournament of Mortals...Alex Mercer: A walking pathogen, the man who calls himself Alex Mercer is really just a virus taking his form. Mercer will kill and absorb all in his path on his quest to remake humanity in his image.
Son Goku: A Super-Saiyan, Goku is a martial artist with no peer, able to deal blows that shatter steel and break bones. He has fought off numerous alien foes in order to protect his adoptive home: The Earth!
Now these two will face each other in the arena. Will the Blacklight virus soon consume the power of a Super-Saiyan? Will the alien save the world from a science experiment gone horribly wrong? Two beings that are very hard to kill will unleash their power, so that we might know who is...
THE DEADLIEST MORTAL!
Finally, in a classic 'To the Victor Goes the Spoils', after you pick a winner, pick something for them to take from the loser. It may be something as simple as a piece of equipment, to something as complex as a power. I'm just curious what you all would say.

you're all forgetting one key feature that Alex Mercer himself states that is unique to all evolved in the second Prototype game: they can't die. Every time Alex will get his ass handed to him by Goku come back stronger hell even in the games when Alex Mercer dies he's just faking to get enemies to leave him because Alex can literally control every single function of his body thinking of restructuring and still be alive he doesn't need to breathe or sleep or even drink only reason he needs to consume biomass issue take on the forms of others. and not only that Alex Mercer doesn't just involve from the people he consumes anything that touches him can make him evolve and grow stronger. Why do you think he called the very species he created Evolved? Because their power is constant rapid evolution. the only thing he gains from people by consuming them as their powers memories voices and appearances as well as their immunities. Alex can develop unique immunities by exposing himself to harm intentionally. If Alex Mercer truly desires it, he can expose himself to so much harm Goku would be helpless. He can also wait until Goku is out on the battlefield fighting another enemy and kill chichi and pretend to be her Goku wouldn't be able to tell the difference because Alex Mercer doesn't just look like the people he absorbs, he becomes them. By consuming someone, Alex gains their voice form personality memories and abilities. He becomes a literal clone of that person with nothing changed during the process. with this ability she could kill Chichi and then use her face to to render Gohan unable to fight because he still sees his mother and doesn't realize that it's not. you can also render Goku unable to fight by literally acting how chi chi would if Goku was going to kill her. Anyone who held a soft spot in their heart for Chichi wouldn't be able to fight back as long as he has her DNA once he consumes her it's bound to him forever. And knowing Alex he would have done this before going after Goku. Because one of Alex's greatest strength is his skill in deception. at the same time with every person he consumes help every thing that's capable of sentient thought two gains every single bit of intelligence they had. innocence Alex Mercer has a lot more ways that he can murder Son Goku than a direct confrontation. you can kill him mentally and then physically, he can drain him of all his power, he can get himself hurt endlessly so that Goku doesn't stand a chance against him because of all the immunities he would then possess, he could pretend to be Goku Ally and constantly put himself in harm's way so that he can be on stoppable when he's ready to fight Goku. innocence Alex Mercer was stated by the very people his series was created by to be an attempt at creating a character who cannot be stopped. Their goal was creating Alex Mercer and the Prototype series what's to create something that looks human but isn't and has the power of a god.

Goku. Alex may be a badass, but he can't compare to the hell Goku has put up with (Especially when Space Napoleon Hitler, I mean, Frieza came back and wanted to kill everyone).

Goku has fought an enemy that shares Mercer's ability to assimilate an enemy and then use this enemy's powers against others- specifically, Majin Boo. And in Boo's case, he can generate energy blasts comparable to NUCLEAR WEAPONS in destructive output.
Mercer can't generate energy blasts comparable to nuclear weapons in destructive output. He can't assimilate Goku, for the same reason Boo couldn't. He falls- HARD.

This isn't a fair fight, it's a total stomp. Goku would just blast Mercer with a ki blast in a second or so.

You're overestimating Mercer a bit. Sure he has serious potential, he gets in you, you're fucked.Β But he has to get in you first lol.
Goku, correction, saiyans are waaaay too tough for Mercer, as it's stated below, the shit Goku's shrugged off without a scratch compared to Mercer's level of power..Β
Mercer is like Yami from bleach in a sense. He isn't the most powerful, but his ridiculously OP power makes him a special case, and if he's lucky, he can take down opponents way wayy stronger than himself.

Goku is the winner in this situation, considering tail-less Saiyans have no exploitable weakness, there isn't really anything that Mercer can find in the arena that could hurt Goku, whereas Goku could just blast Mercer into oblivion, fly off and enjoy a rousing game of bingo at one of his friends' birthday parties.
