Description Ok, this is technically Tournament of Mortals, in that it uses fighters from it, but well... okay, here's the thing: On the Facebook poll, Azula won her match and advanced to Round 2; but on Deviantart she lost, and her opponent went instead. So if we ever do see this match, it'll be on Facebook, not DA. Oh well.

Here's a battle that proves you're never too old, or to young, to kick some ass.

Albus Dumbledore: The oldest wizard in the Harry Potter Universe, he is also one of the most powerful, being the only known wizard that the Dark Lord Voldemort feared. A willy old coot, Dumbledore always knew more then he let on, and always had a back up plan...

Princess Azula: Princess of the Fire Nation, Azula is a master schemer, a prodigy fire bender, and managed to deal a lethal wound to the Avatar, the most powerful being on the planet. But Azula's more then just a walking flamethrower; as her mind was sharp enough to conqueror the Earth Kingdom Capital... without a single loss of life.

In this battle of old vs new only one can walk away--

THE DEADLIEST MORTAL!

Finally, in a classic 'To the Victor Goes the Spoils', after you pick a winner, pick something for them to take from the loser. It may be something as simple as a piece of equipment, to something as complex as a power. I'm just curious what you all would say.

(Disclaimer: Just to be clear, these two combatants were created / are owned by people far more creative / wealthier then me. I have made this, not for profit, but in the hopes of encouraging spirited discussion among fans. Please support the combatants official series. Thank you, that is all).

Are you kidding me.

For all Azula powers, mind, skills and all...Dumbledore all he has to do, is just said some magic words, and he'll either freeze her on her tracks, turn her into stone, make her sleep, banish her away, etc.

He has faced off against thousands foes like her in his life and always win. He didnt became a legend in the Wizard World for being nice, or old, or rich. NO. He became a legend for being powerful and wise.

This is a Wizard that even VOLDEMORT fears.

So against an opponent like Azula...well, since he doesnt like violence, he'll end the battle without trying to harm her...so yea, his Magic Powers are very supreme to an Fire bender like Azula. Heck...even Ozai is no match for Dumbledore.

Azula is nothing compared to Dulmbledore. He's defeated Grindelwald and stood his ground against Voldemort. This is no contest. Dumbledore wins.

Dumbledore creates a giant water snake as in the movie, and the match's over.

I'd say Dumbledores physical fragility and unwillingness to kill his opponent are big disadvantages - but they wouldn't get a chance to be played out. The credo of Death battle is - well, Death Battle. They already pitched Harry against Luke Skywalker, although Harry handles his opponents just like Aang, so the premise is that Dumbledore is going to show what he's got. If he likes it is a different story. With that said Azula's possibilities are very limited. Dumbledore could easily deflect her fire and even turn it around or just summon a shield. She has lightning, but considered how ridiculously slow lightning travels in the Avatar series this also leaves him reaction time for a defensive spell. Azula would make short work of him in hand to hand combat, but can't cross the distance. Dumbledore will just summon a strong wind or a shield again. He can also erease himself from her senses and teleport. Common spells like stupify are travelling like projectiles and can be evaded, but he should also be able to do stuff that doesn't travel a distance at all, like transformation spells. As vulnerable to damage as I imagine Dumbledore to be, I just can't think of a way Azula gets to hit those weak spots.

Hm, interesting.

Let's examine the range of power. I'm actually working on fanfic that explores different types of mage(it has Avatar, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Naruto, among other things).

Benders have limited individual power range unless it's the Avatar. They only have one element. Of course, you have the specializations (Fire = Lightning and Combustion, Earth = Metal and Lava, Water = Blood and Air = Flight), but that will be it. Of course, they make up for technique as well as physical skill, because their element is part of their body, and they are far more physical-oriented than Wizards. Also unlike Wizards, they can't be disarmed unless you have Chi-Blockers involved, something no Wizard can do, especially old and frail Dumbledore.
Wizards have a wider power range. With one wand, you have an arsenal of jinxes, hexes and curses that the Benders can't respond to if it's not element based, especifically their singular element. There's nothing stopping Dumbledore from turning Azula into a frog, or locking her legs together, or making her levitate upside down, or use the Unforgivable Curses(Azula can fight back Imperio, but she can do nothing against Crucio or Avada Kedavra) or Sectumsempra and simply end the fight. Anything Azula throws at him, he can defend against. That being said, he depends on his wand to do his amazing feats of magic, something Azula will quickly notice (and Dumbledore, cunning as he is himself, will notice). Of course, even disarmed, Dumbledore still has Apparition and Fawkes on his side.

Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald and COULD defeat Voldemort. Azula is even more cunning than Voldemort(we don't see enough of Grindelwald to say how cunning he was as a military leader during WWII), but she is nowhere the same power level as either him or Grindelwald. If Dumbledore was in his youth, he could likely defeat Azula.

As it is, it comes down to who can outmaneuver the other and how their physical conditions will affect their reaction time.

I'll have to go with Dumbledore. He probably has a spell up his sleeve to counter Azula's bending, and while she is fairly good at martial arts, they don't do much against a well-trained wizard like Dumbledore.

Azula could actually win this one if she played her cards right. as long as she came off as non threatening as possible Β until she was just close enough then she could use her superior speed and technique to finish him off point blank.

I can see Azula winning. Yes, Dumbledore is a powerful wizard, but I don't see him being willing to kill a child. And Azula would take full advantage of that. Most of the time it only takes one shot of her fire to take an enemy out, so she might be able to beat him, if she keeps moving. Plus, she's a mastermind when it comes to planning. She wouldn't just leap into a fight. She'd spend a reasonable amount of time watching him and how he fight and reacts to threats and also his weakness. My money is on her

Close, But I'm gonna go out on a linb and be the loner here.

Azula wins this one. Dumbledore is a planner, a schemer. Azula is able to think on the fly and change to outcome of battles quickly and decisively. Her unpredictability(and her insanity) is her advantage.

No contest, Azula is a hundred years too early to fight Dumbledore.

Azula has the Preparation and Psychological X-Factors.

Albus has everything else.

Conclusion: Dumbledore wins

Magic is stronger than fire, man. Dumbledore could probably shoot flames from his wand and do other stuff too. It's kind of veeeeerry obvious here.

I think Albus would feel bad about fighting her, but ultimately his magic is stronger then her bending.
