It’s cool and extremely thoughtful to look out for artists that you follow when it comes down to finding their work traced or style “Adopted”.
However, it being such a taboo, I’m going to lay down a few things with the hope that we can all meet a mutual understanding.
No artist, EVER, just /has/ a style from the first moment that they put pen to paper. Never. No chance. You see things and you are influenced by them.
That’s just the way that it is and there is literally no way that you can argue to change my opinion. Fact. For example, I could compile a massive list of
my influences - artists that I admire and am inspired by, films, aesthetics, whatever.

I wrote a lengthy rant on my art blog , but what I am trying to say is that if you suspect someone of anything shitty regarding another artist's work,tell the artist before you do ANYTHING. If they tell you to blow it up out of proportion without absolute proof, that artist is a hateful cunt - but really,you can occasionally diffuse these things before they become a problem if you just treat them like a human being. Scaring someone to condition them out of doing something that may or not even be wrong is like the equivalent of a parent hitting a kid to try and train them to not be a brat. Uncool. Breeds resentment and bitterness. Useless.
