Jumping right into the life of piracy after eloping with the local butcher's boy and more or less with his mother's best friend's daughter;
Devyn pursues the free life at sea, and lusts after perilous excitement of the unknown. No older than fourteen when he'd escaped the
clutches of binding expectations from his family and societal norms; the boy had found himself falling into the care and crew of humble
sailors before finding himself landing upon the island of Nassau, destined -- or moreso doomed to meet a certain infamous pyrate.

While not a protagonist and having a less pivotal role in Riptide, Devyn is less-so minor in the sense that he has a loud personality and obnoxious whit.
