I really like what you did with this. My favorite parts are the color, the capture of the sand falling, and the shadow along the wall.

I think in order to improve it would require digital editing in order to make everything except the sand in black and white. However this would take away the "photography" title from it for sure, and instead make it more like a digital piece.

Another interesting thing to do here would be making the light come from the same place the photo was taken, except much lower, elongating the shadow on the wall and making it feel more dramatic.

Thank you for your critique, I appreciate time you spent writing it. Also thanks for interesting idea with the shadow. I might try it once.

First of all thank you for critiquing my work. I can see what you did here! I really like the idea behind this piece but I think it's the way you have executed it has let you down. I think the angle is a little off and could be made to focus straight onto the sand falling though onto the mound and I think perhaps the lighting could be made to make the shadows in the class very emphasised however - I think you've got perfect timing with the photo and you're choice of hourglass (purple) is very eye catching and I really think in the editing you could emphasise this again. In total I think you have got a great idea but you just need to improve more on your presentation of your idea!

Awesome! The capture of the falling sand in motion is amazing. That the sand is the only colored object in the picture is also very interesting.
