Edit: Moved to regular gallery from Scraps because its not too terrible. Just a little.
So I made this over a year ago... I wasn't too happy with how it came out after I colored it in, but I decided to give it another shot. Still not entirely satisfied, probably the sketch itself. I've improved a little bit in my anatomy and posing since I drew this so perhaps I will try again.
She is sad because the ocean is polluted.... this was supposed to have some sort of an environmental message, but its been far too long for me to remember exactly what it was. I think there was some sort of oil spill around the time I got the idea to draw this, so I wanted to draw a sad mermaid in mirky water...
