Hey guys! So, I really love Steven Universe and wanted to draw Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. However, I love the pilot style , and will never get over how well done it was. In a recent AMA, Rebecca Sugar said she changed it to the current style so it's easier to draw. Well, because of that, I decided to mix the old and the current.I traced (yes, traced, I'm ashamed of myself. Just wanted to get it done) over these images: Amethyst , Garnet , Pearl .
Pearl was the hardest to do, because I pretty much had to do most of it myself. Garnet was the hardest to color, though.

In some alternate universe: Pearl has a small-sized nose, Garnet has straight hair, and Steven sounds like Gohan going though puberty.

Amethyst looks perfect to me.
Garnet too. Just replace the old hair with the new one.
Pearl's hair should be changed to the new one.

Yeah, plus if you watched the extended intro, (minor spoiler) Amethyst has the sweater from the pilot
I liked Garnet's old hair because it reminded me of Estelle. But I also like her new one, I could go either way.
I liked Pearl's entire design in the pilot and I think the hair is rad, but I think the nose should be the new one. ;D

I think her current design suits her personality way more, but I like the pilot a lot. Probably because I'm a big sweater fan. And fanny pack fan!

i like both those i know Garnet should of kept her hair the way it was in to plot the rest i could go either way, i hear they changed the style do the budget and the style was drawn to expensive to keep up..

She said she changed it because there were a lot of animators and the characters had to be easier to draw so a broader amount of people could draw them~
