Added 1/24/09Right, potential new Kaiju, here. I want a plant monster, but suck at drawing plants.
I'm trying to get around that with this guy.
A giant tortoise taken over by a plant, and used as a means of locomotion. It also gets nutrients as the tortoise eats, leaching off of it.
Basicly, a giant, hungry tank.
The roots on the outside are not the only ones-they penetrate the shell underneath, and tendrils go all through the body systems of the tortoise, giving control over it to the plant. So, the roots on top aren't there to keep it attached, but to be used as weapons, lashing out against foes.
So, I ask, does this design work?
Color suggestions are welcomed, too.

That's cool that you hand't seen a Torterra before and came up with the same idea. I cant remember the term but I think It's morphic resonance. Coming up with the same idea even though you have never discussed such ideas.
Also, sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. That's what I'm always being told. Some people dont appreciate it.

I wish I had known-I have another concept for this guy though, so I'm not too worried.
Aspidochelone, or Fastitocalon, was just the most natural choice for this idea, so I went with that first.
And people who say that just can't be sarcastic successfuly. XD

I like that you changed it to a tortoise though, as Aspidochelone is a turtle isn't it? Word of warning- Fastitocalon is in Final Fantasy

Nah, not pissed, just discouraged. Takes alot to actualy get me pissed.
Another name was Aspido-Tortoise, so I shortened that and took inspiration as well.
Fastitocalon is everywhere. Tolkien used it, too, in a short poem. XD

That pokemon is based on the mythical creature I based this on, then. I have not played any pokemon games beyond the first generation, so I had no idea they used this.
This is why I asked if it was a good design, or if I should try something else.

It is a good design, that's just the first thing I thought of. All the vines you used make it different. Perhaps if you added and/or subtracted some things to make it even more unique.
