Description
Added 9/16/08Alright, this is mostly to show you all I can still scan stuff at my dads. It's a hastle, though, so if I do Trades, I won't put them up until I have them all done, ok?
So, this is Proteus, looking much better and closer to what I wanted him to be. The black "slime" that he is made up of is pretty viscous stuff, but still translucent enough that you can see through it.
It still isn't quite like the image in my head, but it's as close as I'm gonna get with pencils and markers at this point.
Messed up his ribs at first-I had to fix 'em in Paint so they look a little funky.
EDIT- Oh, forgot to add a bit of useless info.
1.) His mouth never opens unless he's using his beam.
2.) The "nucleus" has four colors it can change to, normaly-Blue is neutral or happy, Red is pissed or panic, Yellow is nervous or scared, and Green is unhappy. The beam will change color accordingly.
A brownish-orange will mean he is sick.

Right...as he absorbed fresh nutrients, the nastier stuff could be 'sweated' out. Just a thought.

Something like that. It's also due to the fact that people underestimate his adaptibility and immune system.

Ah, a leaner (if not necessarily meaner), exquisitely-detailed revamp of my favorite skele-kaiju. Those partly/fully-submerged bones provide a marked improvement indeed.
Random question: just how would an organism like Proteus get 'sick' in the first place? Absorbing toxins (man-made or not) that soaked into the soil underfoot? Interesting note, that.

Thank you much! I'm glad the submerged bones came out right!
How would Proteus get sick? Well, if guns and bombs don't work on him... You got it pretty much right, there, with the man-made toxins. Don't worry, though. I doubt it would work for long.

Okay...the whole point of bringing in the science of biology into his whole perspective is AWESOME. The whole "nucleus" idea is freakin' sweet. *is taking Biology currently, ironicly* Makes me wanna stay awake in Bio class now!

Hehe, thank you! I really wanted to make a "different" monster, and I think a giant ameoba fit the bill.

That's a cool concept! It's made out of black jello?
I'm in charge of recruiting some people for an Indy game project called Realms, and you seem like a candidate, so in case you are interested, here's the leader's email:
dwstudios@live.co.uk
They definitely need some concept artists.
Cheers!
