Good thing my current program has a built in 16x16 grid just to prepare for making tilesets efficiently.
In Gimp I had to do this manually...

Aseprite. It’s a program dedicated to pixel art and way easier to work with than Photoshop and Gimp in comparison.

I've been using Paint.net for ages. Might give it a shot. It may just give me an edge in making Wesltouia.

I tried Paint.net but I fear a bug will harm my computer (Gimp deletes some layers while Photoshop gave me a disk write protection that causes errors on my file in Photoshop.)
