In Memoriam:We are here to glimpse the dead. We will not mourn their loss, but celebrate their life. This is a time of remembrance of their love, sorrow, success, loss, and achievement. Elements of their life, such as their country's national flower, tears for personal sorrow, ect.... are intertwined in the ornamentation of their face paint. Popular photographs of 20 deceased and famous men and women are the anatomical foundation of this project.

One of 20 paintings made for the "In Memoriam" art exhibit at the Mobile Arts Council for the month of October.
Watercolor, pencil, and, pen.
Their portraits were first drawn in pencil (HB) on Canson cold press 9x12 140 lb watercolor paper, inked with Sakura permanent pens (size 1, 3, and the occasional 8). Sakura brand watercolors, as well as some Holbien and other random ones were used, even straight from the tube. Royal brand brushes and generic small sumi-e brushes were used as well.
