Textured 2 more buildings and placed everything I got so far into the scene max file. Again, mostly diffuse textures only and no lighting. Max cant handle all the stuff in realtime.Polycount of everything right now is 400k tris, without cars 200k. Each building has a 1k texture map plus a couple of tiled textures used all over the scene.
Whats left are like a dozen unique buildings (rest will be copies or modified versions), some trees and hundrets of cables handing down from pretty much everything (Ill use splines to create them, 3 sided cylinders should be fine). Another big task will be getting everything into the engine. I think Ill use Cryengine3 instead of 2 since Crytek plans to release its SDK in the coming weeks, should be a nice project for the beginning.

Hmm, looks good; Does the Cryengine support expansive, GTA-style environments?

Yeah, it shouldnt have problems at all. Crysis2's setting is not much different from this one so Id be surprised if I get any problems. Polycount is still quite low, too. I could probably use 5 times the tris Im using now.
