Description
The Grossglockner is, at 3,798 metres above the Adriatic (12,461 ft), the highest mountain of Austria. It is a part of High Tauern range which are a part of the Alps. This photo was taken at approx. 2428 m.It is actually from my lovely trip with Miss meshaniel to Italy (through Austria) for my 30th (khhhm khhm 21st).
The original plan was that we were to take different, easier and quicker road (and for free) but it was closed so we were "forced" to take this alpine road, which took us few good hours cause we were stopping every 100m to take photos and it is not that long - their webiste states: You will have a driving and nature experience of a special kind on 48 kilometres of high alpine road with 36 bends, and an altitude ascent to 2,504 metres!
Anyway, there will be more pics soon from the road. Please check their website for details: www.grossglockner.at/en/hochal…
Btw. it is quite pricey BUT trust me you want to do this!!!
Enjoy

I really love the stark contrast of the mountain. It gives it this foreboding look, with all the snow that's on it.
