Description
Some more pose studies (maybe the last one for a bit) for an upcoming scene in the fan comic, "It's A Hard Knock Ed". Also, got another chance to try a different wardrobe for the big guy. Strongly inspired by retro 90s skater style & modern brands, always loved drawing those baggy pants. For those who are wondering what Ed is carrying, it's a cooler filled with goods for Heidi & Rolf. At some point soon in the plot, Joe's gonna need strong arms to help with delivering the goods.Because of the context, this page wouldn't be complete without the King of Skate - Kevin! - Literally my first time drawing him...EVER!

Your art is so...earthy. I don't even know how to explain it really, it's very stony and rugged and I'm in love with it. I look at it and I can see them as actual people and relate to it. I keep saying human a lot, even despite them being cartoons. This includes the colours, the outfits and beautiful ugliness. Even your shading has a sogginess to it that really works with your style. Very pleasing to look at, honestly. Basically, I really love these (especially those Eds! Aaah) and I feel all nostalgic. I also like how you've put a flushed tinge on the ears, nose and elbows. Your first Kevin rocks, aha.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you picked up on those subtle traits, my goal is to just that - to make them relatable. The human aspects is an attempt to simulate how the original characters were somewhat based off "real people" themselves so I'm happy you say they feel real.

THATS WHAT HE IS?? OMG thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been trying to figure it out for months! Wow.. It's one of those things that's stored in your subconscious from early memory (remembered them from French-dubed cartoons growing up).

Moomin is so cute! I prefer the English dub, it has lovely songs opening and ending the show.
