Description
History and Significance:The initial reason for founding the Raven Crest was gathering information and recovering pieces of eden. they later became responsible for safe guarding all of the order's written records and sending aid internationally.
However, as the branch grew in renown among guild leaders, they were tasked with safeguarding precious information and secrets vital to the order, as well as recovering pieces of eden from Templar hands.
They remained a little known mystery to most of the order during their later operations, and don't appear in any records within the brotherhood, since they were responsible for keeping a majority of the brotherhoods written records. They quickly became an informational tool for guild masters to rely upon as they housed much of the information known to the order.
Special Traits of the Ravens:
~Raven Crest Tenants~
~ One must be of sound mind and excel in wit as much as brawn.
~One must understand the weight of the knowledge he carries and never underestimate the power of information.
~Finally, one must ensure that the wisdom they've obtained through service to the Ravens shall be taken to the grave before any who are unworthy would seek to benefit from it.
~Burial Rites~
Instead of being buried in tombs or crypts Ravens are ceremonially burned as a means of "destroying" the knowledge they once so closely guarded, so that it may never be stolen from their minds. They are burned with their full assassin robes as well as a banner embroidered with the Raven's Crest in black and azure. Their ashes are then collected and scattered on the wind.
Significance of the Name:
Countless cultures point to the raven as a harbinger of powerful secrets. Moreover, the raven is a messenger too, so its business is in both keeping and communicating deep mysteries.
Raven symbolism of wisdom and knowledge-keeping is connected with the Welsh hero Bran, the Blessed whose name means raven. Bran was the holder of ancestral memories, and his wisdom was legendary. So much so, that he had his head (the vessel of his powerful wisdom) removed and interred in the sacred White Mount in London.
Okay aside from all that other reading, This is a bit of the back story fluff I invented for the AC cosplay I'm making for next May as I'm going as an OC, LΓ©on de'ArquΓen. since he's original I decided to give him some substance just for fun.

Oooooh~ Interesting.
If I may but you may wanna make the symbol symmetric and put a wing on both sides. Just my opinion, I think it's looks a bit odd being on just one side.

I was thinking about it, but for some reason I've become a fan of asymmetry lately, I might change it, as you said it looks a bit odd
