Description
Pendleton Ward once said he aspired to make some parts of Adventure Time like “Miyazaki” moments. I took this to mean he attempted to make some close up shots of faces either creepy, detailed, etc. OR make the environments as beautiful as possible. The episode “Thank You” is one of my favorite episodes, and one I truly think he meant to make a “Miyazaki” episode. The writing is heartfelt, with minimal dialogue. The environments are lush and vibrant, telling the story of two being that come together from opposing sides (this can be seen in movies like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Nausicaa). I’m not making an argument for Ward sneaking love letters to Miyazaki, I’m only making examples.

Anyhoo, still working on getting used to my new tablet. Here is my fire wolf pup, cleaned up in sketchbook pro. Originally sharpie, micron pen on marker paper.
