She was introduced in a game RARE had been developing originally for the Nintendo64 under the name "Dinosaur Planet" but then ended up on the Gamecube as "StarFox Adventures".  She was supposed to be the protagonist on that original draft of the game but Miyamoto stepped in and forced the "StarFox" license into the game, turning her into a background character.  It really didn't mattered though because people fell in love with her and she made late appearances on other titles such as StarFox Assault and StarFox Command.  To this day she remains as one of the most popular furry female character ever created.

That is unavoidable with anything that is popular  Everyone is entitled to their opinion.  The most useful and powerful thing fans of Krystal can do is to like her just the same and not let the derision of her as a character bother you in the least.

At this point it is up to fans to keep her character relevant since, as far as Nintendo is currently concerned, she's being erased from the official record.  C'est la vie.

Thanks for your critique although you are mistaken regarding arms length, I've double checked and measured just to make sure and her arms are proportionate to her body, so are her feet.  As for the tail, that is a signature element in my art: big, fluffy tails.  The bigger breast are indeed off model, again, personal preference.  Her body is drawn with my personal style while playing homage to the character.

As for her face being poorly drawn, maybe you don't remember how her appearance was in the original Starfox Adventure:

Please do notice than in the official art the size of her head with respect to her body is shoulder width and her head height from top of the head to base of the neck is the same as the distance from the base of the neck to her belly button, exactly as it is in my drawing.  In other words, I did took care in her of respecting that aspect of her design.

Are you sure you measured correctly? A person's arms should reach down to about mid-thigh, but because you drew Krystal's legs at more than half the length of her body, the arms come up a bit short. Not only that, but they're too gangly and undertoned compared to the rest of her body. You probably need to triple-check her feet's proportions too. Even using the same SFA reference model, Krystal's feet are a bit larger and don't look bound the way you drew them. Again, the length of the legs compounds the problem with proportions.

I'm not complaining about her head's proportions, but the depiction of her face is inaccurate. You drew her muzzle too short and round, lending her the child-like appearance. The lashes surrounding her eyes are too thin, giving Krystal a somewhat bug-eyed gaze. Her neck is also much too thin. I admit I've sometimes had trouble translating Krystal's 3D model into a 2D illustration too, but BlackBy's gallery shows some pretty good examples of how it can be done. Perhaps you'd benefit from using her artwork for reference in future.

Yes I've measured correctly, arm length on a person doesn't entirely reach mid thigh, it is a bit above that, and around at groin height.  You can split the height of the body exactly in half from groin area as well.  Take a ruler and see that that is how the proportions work in this drawing so her legs aren't more than half the length of her body.  As for arms thickness, this is intentional as to highlight her female proportions. Her feet are fine as well because, while small for your taste, these are within proportionate parameters to denote femininity.  

As for the face, I drew it in a personal style, I don't like drawing female characters with very pronounced snouts or lines that denote squarish construction so I drew her precisely as I wanted to draw her while giving her an appealing look, not only that, the angle at which her head is pointed would not reveal much of her snout anyways but I hinted at it by adding a small shadow to the side of it.  As for the eyes lashes and referencing Blackby's own art, how exactly does the eyelashes on this pic of Blackby differ from mine? : blackby.deviantart.com/art/Kry…  These are pretty much the same.  As for the neck, again, look at the original art I provided and see it is rather thin, so it is on some of Blacky's own work:  blackby.deviantart.com/art/Kry…  (please do notice that in this example in particular the angle of Krystal's face is identical to mine and how the muzzle looks flat due to the angle being nearly head on.) Nevertheless, I'll consider this on future pics I create.

Blacby's art is very beautiful and I appreciate your input and will take it into consideration in future pics, I will probably do an in depth study of Krystal's 3D model and create a character sheet to reference for personal use.  As such it is my best interest to develop my art to be my own signature style and not the mere imitation of another artist's style.  I will probably reference her work but most likely whatever I create in the future will not look the same as Blacby's drawings.

This pic was created to fulfill a trade that ended up meeting the interested party's expectations: fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/f/201…   If the pic doesn't fit with your personal aesthetics or taste, I'm alright with that, I'm also fine with you outright telling me that you don't like it, but don't fault the pic from a technical standpoint because I have demonstrated than that is not the case.

I hope this reply suffices to answer and satisfy whatever concern you might have regarding the pic.  Art allows for multiple views and interpretations and artists have the freedom to interpret and render character as their artistic sensibilities and style guides them even if said interpretations fall outsides the parameters of the official art.
