Cool. In my Video Game Republic AU of Star Trek, there would be quite a lot of these bad boys, as well as lots of the other spacedock and starbase classes for both the Federation and the Republic. A few of space stations of this class would be VG Republic Starfleet Command spacedock,VG Starbase 11461, VG Starbase 2236, VG Starbase Acropolis (which would actually be part of a large spaceport-like ring around a planet), and the Iwata Advanced Shipyards (named after the late Satoru Iwata; that stations would have a lot more drydocks on it; attached to a ring around the lower area of the station).

when I was designing it, I kept thinking more towards Yorktown station from ST Beyond. both a functional outpost on the edge of federation space , and a physical display of the federations collective technology and engineering prowess.

Could probably fit an entire fleet inside in one go and still have room to maneuverer.
