Description In response to several requests for a simple plush tutorial for beginners, here it is! This tutorial is suitable for someone who has never made a plush before! This tutorial contains the basic techniques you need to make plushies. In this tutorial you will learn how to:
Make your own pattern
Cut out fabric and pin
Sew inside out, so the seams are on the inside
Stuff and finish a plush.

If you do not own a sewing machine, you can still sew this by hand easily enough! For instructions on hand sewing, please see this tutorial -->

This will not take long for someone with a sewing machine (maybe an hour). For someone experienced at plush making, this will probably take only 20 minutes.

Good luck! Please feel free to ask for help if you need to, and make sure you show me your end result!!

I've been meaning to make a Ditto for sometime now. Too bad the nearest fabric store is quite a ways away *sad face*

He looks so soft and squishy *A* If I may ask, what fabric did you use?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

scilk In reply to krystalfan-2 [2013-09-05 23:16:33 +0000 UTC]

nuuuu well you can buy fabric online! ebay has a lot of minky fabrics (which is what I used)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

krystalfan-2 In reply to scilk [2013-09-05 23:20:31 +0000 UTC]

I don't have any form of card that shops online ;v: I'm such a sad sap.Β

Do you generally get it cheap? Because I know this place where they have only six things of minky, and it's $16/meter. Is that a good price for it, for future reference?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

scilk In reply to krystalfan-2 [2013-09-05 23:38:08 +0000 UTC]

well at my local store I can get it for $13-$15 a meter. Some shops are $20/ meter...

If you can't afford that, polar fleece works fine for plushies too!

krystalfan-2 In reply to scilk [2013-09-05 23:43:36 +0000 UTC]

Ah, so the shop is reasonably priced then.

I do use fleece now, mainly because I get them half-off and it lasts me a long time though I don't know what kind it is, I usually go for feel :I. I do hope to make one plush out of minky someday, just to say that I have used it.
