West-Vlaams is a language spoken in West Flanders (Belgium), in the northern part of French Flanders (Dunkerque's arrondissement) & in the Zeelandic Flanders.This is the second regional language of the french region "Nord-Pas-de-Calais".

Haha, so weird seeing this here! Native West-Vlaams speaker here. Although I wouldn't say it's a entirely different language then Dutch, It's more of a dialect albeit a very unique one.

and these are considered two dialects strictly linked to each other

Well an history's teacher told me that the relation between West-Flemish & Dutch is more like the relation between Picard & Official French (or Sicilian & Official Italian)
