Oh my gosh....this is amazing! The symbolism in this is staggering. I am not sure which way your position on the subject of the crucifiction is, but this is an amazing piece and I absolutely love it! The thumbnail does not do it justice, it HAS to be be maximized for its full potential to be seen. Amazing! Keep up the great work!

Really interesting subject matter. I like how you've begun to work some color into the "veination" extensions - it gives the effect more impact. I like the bezier curve decorations you've followed around the figure as well. Great texturing.
The size/angle of the cross seems a bit off - I don't think it would hold the person carrying it. Since I think this manip has been based off a photo of a statue somewhere, is it possible the perspective on it wasn't completely preserved?
I'm really curious about the symbols on the lower right pillar face....

this is a wonderful piece, i missed seeing it for a while cuz i wasnt watching the favorite additions for the day.....the texturing is very cool and the overall coloring is very good as well...the red and the stony/earthy colors work well....also, the composition is excellent as i feel it portrays and exemplifies the theme of the release very well although i havent yet taken a look at the other pieces on the breed site yet....the figure seems both a statue and an animate object at the same time, kind of a stopped motion sort of idea if that makes any sense...and the figure itself conveys a deep sense of emotion that could vary between pain, exhaustion, a questioning sense of why?, and resolve to finish the task at hand.....and thats not even from a religious standpoint, for this image means a lot more depth in story and emotion because of what should be fairly obvious reasons....
to be fair ill include one negative that i felt when i viewed this piece....some of the edges seem to be blurred a bit more than they should or could be....almost like a smudge-tool got a little happy for a few minutes for example, i guess i would like to see a little more definition in the "floor" underneath his feet as opposed to smooth splotches scattered throughout. i include this as part of my comment because i feel that even the best works need a pro and con evaluation no matter how many favorites hits it recieves so please dont feel offended
overall excellent work, hopefully my comment has been more helpful than the dozens of "awesome job" type comments that have been submitted above......
oh and to the guy that commented on churches asking for money, how do you expect them to pay for utilities and building rent and stuff without income? theyre nonprofit organizations just like the American Heart Association and the Boy Scouts.....but yes sometimes lots of churches go overboard about it and i dislike that very much too....so dont flame me
