Soooo if you follow me on twitter or tumblr you know that I am obsessed (OBSESSED) with the show Space Dandy. Even my DA profile has a wee bit of Space Dandy on it.

For the past 7 weeks straight I have been drawing these characters. I love drawing them. I love coloring them. I really can't express my love for this show.

A lot of you might remember last semester and how I drew commissions so I could pay off my dorm. I was so stressed and upset that I got to the point where I dreaded drawing. In January when I had only a few commissions left to finish I was drained and upset. I lost confidence in my drawings and I was just upset a majority of the time.

It wasn't until mid-February when I started feeling better about myself and my drawings. I started drawing Space Dandy. The show is more than just a show to me. I am sure I am preaching to the choir when I tell this to Sonic and MLP fans. I worked and worked on drawing these characters until I could draw them from memory. If you watched me stream this-- you'd know I did just that. I did go back and add in a few details based off the model sheet (namely on QT and Dandy's shoes) but other than that I did this from memory.

If you really love something and you want to draw it then draw it. Don't like how it looks the first time you draw it? Practice. PRACTICE. I didn't draw Dandy spot on the first time. I took time out (at like 3 in the morning) to learn how to draw him and what details went where. I was the same way with Mario and Sonic growing up. I mean I didn't stay up till 3am learning how to draw them, but I did put time into drawing them.

SO YEAH! I'm going to go fangirl over the little prints I made of this picture. I am proud of myself and it has been a long time since I have said that.
