Description (Rhys convinced me to make up a kaiju)
This is Dindamort. He's a giant secretary bird/cassowary cross, and he (literally) kicks ass.

Once upon a time, a "private collector" purchased two birds- one, a cassowary, the big, angry flightless birds known for their disembowling kicks, and the other a secretary bird, a big raptor that kicks and stomps its prey to death. He took the birds back to his home, a laboratory near Paris.
Now, unfortunately for our avian friends, this man was a MAD SCIENTIST (dun dun DUNNN), who, upon arriving at the lab, promptly stuck the birds in a contraption that fused them into one creature (like The Fly, but with birds).

The resulting creature had the stomping capabilities of the secretary bird, the kicking power of the cassowary, and the killer claw to boot. Not to mention the ability to fly. It was, in our scientist's eyes, a huge success. This thing could kick a black belt out of the ring with barely the blink of an eye.

But one dark night, the freak bird got out.

And damn, he was hungry.
He started to look for a meal, and found a room full of some of the scientist's other experiments deep within the bowels of the lab. One looked particularly delicious, a glowing green snake. Of course, it was radioactive, and on consuming the snake, the bird's DNA started to mutate. It grew.

The scientist found the bird the next morning, sitting with a content expression in the middle of a pile of the remains of his other experiments. Angry and scared, he tried to lock the bird up again, but it kicked its way out of any cage it was put into, and eventually got out onto the streets.
By this time, it was big enough to make a meal out of a person. Which it did. The poor Frenchie mistook it for a giant turkey, and so his last words before recieving a kick that could've taken out a full-grown bull were as follows:
"Oh, mon Dieu! C'est un dinde!"
(Or Oh, my God! It's a turkey!)
Local newspapers dubbed the beast "Le Dinde a Mort", or the turkey of death. Within days, he'd grown to full kaiju size, all the while stomping, kicking and eating whoever he pleased. The name did seem to fit.

Americans later caught wind of the story, of course. Being Americans, they of course couldn't keep Le Dinde a Mort's French name sounding French, and (in much the same way the word "alligator" comes from "el lagarto"), it eventually became Dindamort.

He can sometimes be seen flying or stomping around the area of Paris, although sightings have been claimed all over Europe.

I love this guy, and I get this image of the scientist putting him into a cage, Dindamort busting out, and then shouting "GOD DAMN BIRD!" and setting up a new cage.
