Description Name: Jacques Blokk
Species: Jack-in-the-Block (Original Jester subspecies)

Overworld Ability: Hide (Mario and Jack hide within the '?' block)

Personality:
Jack is quite a wacky partner, who is more than a bit off-kilter.   First found locked shut at a haunted carnival, Jack Blokk joins Mario on his quest.  He has an off sense-of-humor and tends to speak in riddle or rhyme, though no one is really sure why all the time.  He has assorted magical abilities rivaling those of a Magikoopa.  Let's just say this guy is really outside the box...urm, well...block.

(EDIT: Based on my previous version, Mr. Act, who seemed a little over-complicated mechanically.  Was able to make the character feel more at home, and a little more original by switching from a general Jester species from SMRPG to a new subspecies Jack-in-the-Block.)

Oh, this was a Mario RPG enemy! Dang, if we can look to that, there's even more possibilities!

Absolutely love this sub species! It's really cool how you utilized the question mark block, too! Very smart design, and perfect for mario.

Thank you! Funny enough, in his first design he had legs and wasn't a Jack-in-the-Block at all.  After talking about him to my sibling and showing him off, I realized that his design could be vastly improved when I thought of turning him into a jack-in-the-box.  From there, it only felt natural that he should come out of a '?' block...after all, that's from where all good things come. Haha.

I'm glad you decided on the jack-in-the-box design in the end. Plus, it makes him fit the toy box level from the n-64 Paper Mario!

Thanks :] I'm happy with the end result too. Hahaha I guess you're right, though that's not the level he'd take place in.

Sorta reminds me of Dimentio. Any relation?

Distantly perhaps? Dimentio is loosely based off the Jester species from Super Mario RPG, which was the inspiration for the subspecies I've defined here. So about as much relation as any human would have to another somewhere else. But not any relation close enough to note.  Hope that clears things up :]
