that's a pretty good question actually, you'll have to extract the plasma theme into

$HOME/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme/
or
$HOME/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/

depending on distro

Ya don't know how I love this theme,I would change to KDE desk!Fortunately I used to use KDE for almost 1 year. That's not hard for me.

Probably one of the best KDE styles out there.

(Who should be bribed to have it ported to Gtk? )

Technically you should be able to use the qtcurve in gtk, but I'm not sure if that's ideal (haven't seen anyone do it). I'll consider making a gtk theme though (since I get all these requests )

Thank you, that's incredibly kind. Personally I think it would be much more interesting experience for me to see it running in KDE environment, which is absolutely great but seemed to lack a strong counter-oxygen vision that would make it popular with people who prefer a rather moderated and subtle desktop. There's Bespin of course, but a bespin-like manner is a different cup of tea. When finally the big day has come together with your work (and I'm happy to see it being quickly recognized and praised), I think I'll simply spend a day or two setting up Chakra on a free partition and admiring your Qt skills. Sounds quite good to me.

As for now I'm enjoying the screenshot -- everything in it makes me hear a loud WOW coming from the inside. Perfect lettering, fantastic colours, great overall composition. And the promise of usability and accessibility that the image brings, like every great advert. So -- welcome to my happy-watching-hours. (But I should be forgiven: people who hear voices and loud WOWs are maniacs. )

Good luck and thanks for making my day!

I love your theme, but I miss a few icons, for movies (avi, ogv), music (ogg, mp3) and for System Settings. Otherwise it's a great theme, I searched for a stylish, dark theme for KDE for a very long time.

Scnd101 In reply to evenorbert [2010-11-15 05:10:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah the icons still need alot of work, the next update (should be out soon-ish) will at least cover most filetypes, and a few more apps.

I just found this via garthecho's Emerald port on Gnome-Look.org. Unfortunately I use Gnome, so I can't use the rest of the theme, but it looks good (probably the first time I've said that about a KDE desktop!).

Is anyone working on porting the rest of the widget theme? Preferably to a standard engine, and not an Ubuntu-only bleeding edge version of Murrine or whatever

Thanks.

IBBoard In reply to IBBoard [2010-11-15 20:23:49 +0000 UTC]

Okay, I'll reply to myself to add another request: Anyone planning to do the window borders in Metacity?

I've just found that openSUSE have dropped Emerald (and Fusion-Icon) because they're apparently not maintained. I've had to do an update and lost Emerald functionality, but Metacity themes still work, so a Metacity version would be great I've tried poking it myself using a different theme as a base, but I've not got enough knowledge of Metacity yet (my first gradient ended up with two solid blocks of colour and a definite edge!)

Thanks.

I've ported this window decoration to Emerald for my desktop and made it as accurate as Emerald will allow. I was wondering if you would like me to post it for the Compiz users (with credit to you, of course)?

Scnd101 In reply to garthecho [2010-11-09 08:31:21 +0000 UTC]

sure, I'd like to add it to the suite as well if that's ok

And, of course, definitely add it to the suite.

Keep up the great work, man.

ya know, i'm actually surprised more people don't know about QMMP: QMMP is an audio-player, written with help of Qt library. The user interface is similar to winamp or xmms. Alternative user interfaces also are available.
i hardly see it mentioned when people talk about winamp-like players. it is especially appropriate on Qt/KDE desktops.

QUESTION: I am now using this suite and it is DELIGHTFUL, but I'm not sure how to install the Chrome/ium theme. I'm used to dragging .crx files into the browser, but you've provided a folder. Care to enlighten me?

A .crx wouldn't work for the installer, here's one for manual installs: [link]
