At some point in the future, Pinkie travels back in time when King Grover ruled over Griffonstone. She does something heroic there, King Grover lets a statue of her getting built to honor her for it and falls in love with her.
They spend some time with each other, but then, Pinkie has to travel back into her time. King Grover stays behind alone, only with Pinkie's statue at his side and mourns over it that she had to leave and misses her since.
In the present, Pinkie's statue has already crumbled and does not exist anymore. That's why we haven't seen it in "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone". So, Pinkie couldn't find out that another self of her was in the past and met King Grover and that she will meet him too a few years from now on.

Actually, if I'm being honest, I probably won't. I mean, I might, but I've kind of lost interest in the idea.

Not suddenly. It was a small little idea I was kicking around in the aftermath of the episode, one that I've done literally zero work on besides scoping out a cover image. That, and during a routine evaluation of all of the ideas I have on backlog, this idea has incredibly little going for it.
For what small comfort it's worth, I have written other stuff. And I'm not saying I'll never write Grover and Pinkie, I just felt I should be honest with you about where it stands on the totem pole.

Working steadily on the story is good, but you should also take enough time for it, so that it will be really good.

I know that. Look at how I wrote "writing" under it, not "wrighting".
That happens often to me lately. I want to write down a word and then I end up writing down a word that sounds the same, but is written differently. And I never notice it while writing. Only when it's too late.
And it's strangely something that only happens when I write comments. Never when I write a fic.
I don't know why that happens.
