Axis may be a fictional character, but her situation is very much a reality. Millions of cats and dogs have been left out on the street to fend for themselves, and it is a very cold, scary, and cruel world. Each year, approximately 6.5 million animals enter shelters each year, and 1.5 million of those animals are euthanized each year due to overcrowding. Ask yourself: What can I do to help? Spread awareness. Volunteer, donate, or adopt from a shelter. Report animal neglect and abuse. Speak up, because they can't.

poor little girl... if it can make you feel better about the situation, most of my cats come from the streets/animal shelters... It's nothing much given the situation (it's pretty much the same in France, many pets being abandonned every years) but every little things count.
