[RH] Mission 21: Op 1 (Sakura)If you asked him, Sakura wouldn't really note himself as a bad kid. What kid would though? In all seriousness though, while he was a rowdy little guy who liked getting into all sorts of trouble he liked to be considerate of others when he played. He tried to listen to adults for the most part, when they told him not to do something. Grown ups were sure a lot smarter than a little kid he was certain, and he knew they were only trying to keep him safe when they told him not to do something.In knowing this though, why hadn't he listened? Back on the base of the mountain. He'd begged to go, at the promise that he'd hang back from danger and not try to throw himself at team Galactic. If he promised he'd listen and do as told, he could go. Promise he did. But being a kid, his desire to explore got the better of him.Best friend Cupcake in tow, the pair snuck off from the adults spying on team Galactic to explore around the other side of the mountain. They'd agreed that they wouldn't stay gone long. No one would even notice they were gone! Pattering around, playing with stones and sticks like kids do and just goofing off. Even play tussling, they were just enjoying themselves. Though this was a serious mission, they just couldn't help it.Maybe they should have helped it though. Maybe if they had been paying more attention, they'd have seen the giant Salamence Galactic recruit swooping down enough to run away before its giant feet thudded hard on the ground and shook the small bit of earth close to them, because they were so tiny compared to it.That didn't mean they didn't instantly turn tail and run out of there though, or at least they tried. Jaws snapped in the air near them as the large Pokemon tried to grab either of them.When Sakura was sure they were done for, he caught sight of his mother rounding the side of the mountain. Clearly looking for the two sneak away children. Her gaze met her sons and her eyes widened for a second, just a split moment, before she prepared an attack, readying herself to launch forward to her child's defense.Only she didn't. The attack was barely sent out before another Galactic team member, a Vaporeon, barreled into her side and knocked her to the ground. No doubt stalling her for its teammate. She didn't know what Galactic wanted with her child, nor with Maria's child, but she refused to let them be taken.Sakura and Cake continued trying to run from their chaser, at first being sure Axis would win easily and come get them. Sakura was sure his mom could do anything, she was strong! But as the battle continued on, it was clear she wasn't getting a moment to slip away. If only they could hide until she could come get them-Teeth, gentle despite terrorizing them only moments before, fastened into both Sakura and Cake's scruffs, picking them up much like a mother cat. They were lifted up, high to them because they were much smaller than the Salamence. Fear thudded in Sakura's chest and he struggled, but he was not dropped. His voice seemed to be trapped in his throat and he couldn't cry out no matter how much he wanted to call for his mother.Then higher into the air they were lifted as the Galactic recruit flapped its wings and took to the air. Finally his voice broke free, rough and shaky as he was on the verge of tears. He reached his paws out frantically, pawing at the air in the direction of his mother just as she finished the battle. It looked like it had taken a lot out of her too, was she hurt? "Mama!" He squeaked, his voice tiny and scared. He sounded almost like a tiny little kitten again, curled up next to her and his siblings when they were too small to run around and play.Axis began to run to them again, fear clear in her eyes as the Salamence rose up far too high for her to reach. It wasted no time in flying away quickly however, and Sakura found himself clinging to Cake while being carried through the air, watching his mothers fading form slowly vanishing from view. He should have listened and just stayed where the grown ups told him to. He knew that now. Sakura was so very sorry he'd not obeyed what he was told to do. The pair of friends clung to each other as they were carried presumably to a team Galactic base for Arceus knows what. Despite being scared, Sakura knew his mom would still save them. She'd go tell others. She'd tell his dad. Others would offer to come help look for the two kidnapped recruits. They'd get to go home soon, of course they would. Nothing bad would happen to them....would it?
[RH] Loki's QuestLoki stared out into the sky, glancing sideways at her mom, then back at the sky. “I’m sorry, mom,” she muttered quietly, and ran after the Salamence that had taken her brother and his friend. She had to… she didn’t know what she could do, but she had to try. “Loki?” they heard their mom’s voice, almost a whisper, as they stepped away, confusion in her voice. Loki turned back for a moment, meeting Axis’s eyes. “You need to find Dad. Gather our resources… I’m the biggest brother, I gotta take care of my little brother and Cake… I gotta follow them to figure out where they are, so I can come back to the Hideout and lead you to them later.”Axis stumbled over to embrace Loki, wrapping her arms around it. There was a look of worry on her face, one she couldn’t hide. “You’re injured,” Loki observed. Axis was shaking. Her tears were warm against Loki’s shoulder. “I don’t want you to go,” she sobbed, “I can’t lose two children in one day…”“You’re not losing me, Mom!” Loki pulled away, using her hooves to hold Axis at arm’s length. “I’m just going on a scouting mission. I’ll stay hidden, promise!”Axis shook her head. “No, I refuse. I won’t let you go out there and get kidnapped or worse…”“The longer we argue the farther they get. You know I’m older than Sakura, I’m older and more responsible than even Newton and Brynn!”Axis put her head against Loki’s shoulder again, shaking with sobs. “I can’t…”“I gotta go, Mom. I just… I have to,” Loki said, choking up with tears herself. But the tears didn’t stop him from turning around and running, too fast on his hooves for Axis to dream of catching up. She heard the feline’s yowls of sorrow but ignored them, focusing on the far-away dot in the sky that was her brother and friend. He had to find them. He just… had to....
