This was a long time coming for me. I've finally made a basilisk OC! I always liked the idea of a reptilian humanoid punching people out with three beefy arms at once.

This basilisk is not actually a behemoth, but rather a champion mixed martial artist. "The Behemoth" is just his stage name. His real name is Rufus.

As a young 8-legged lizard, Rufus thought it was unfair the way other races looked down upon most monsters. Sure monsters like basilisks would turn people to stone and eat them, but Rufus firmly believed that there were plenty of monsters out there that deserved a chance at humanity, so to speak. However, the monsters around Rufus always told him that trying to be like the other races was a fruitless effort, and he was better off gobbling up any elf or dwarf he came across. Rufus wasn't deterred, in face he was convinced that his fellow monsters were simply too scared to get out there and be more than just cannon fodder for high level adventurers.

Rufus decided to make a name for himself. He learned to speak, he learned to stand up on his hind legs, but most importantly he learned that to truly impress people of another race, you need to show them you can fight with honor. Only then will you earn respect and glory. And what better way to show the world you can fight with honor than participating in a mixed martial arts tournament? It was the true test of combat skill. You can fight with nothing but your bare hands, and considering Rufus has six of those, he became the champ in no time. One may argue it's unfair, but considering giant demon gorillas can also participate in matches, eight-legged lizards are sorta par for the course.

Going by the handle of "The Behemoth," Rufus uses his fame to inspire other monsters to be all they can be, and turn their own quirks into talents just as he did. Despite his noble intentions, The Behemoth has a rather swollen head these days. With the gusto of a modern day professional wrestler, The Behemoth mercilessly mocks his opponents, while referring to himself in the third person and flashing his champion's belt. That aside, he really does have a heart of gold, making it his business to never cheat by turning his opponents to stone or biting them.
