Hello, I'm Jessica from ProjectComment to critique your work. As your work involves symbolic composition, I'm sure you'll get a good number of opinions of it's meaning from viewers so my critique is solely based on my own.
Background: I like the colors you've chosen. It doesn't detract attention from the main subject, but supports its color palette. The texture is a nice touch and engages a viewer to study the entire work. With the corners shaded, it highlights the face bringing attention back to the main subject.
Shading: The shading on the face and neck is simplistic but effective. It looks like the shadows and highlights are in the proper places while still adding to the surreal nature of the subject.
Subject: I love how you've used universal symbols such as the TV with the antenna, dials, and red radio waves giving it a vintage spin alongside the more modern applications. The sweat emanating from the neck gives a great insight into the mood of the subject while blood from the ears, eyes, and brain showcase the effects of the subject's addiction. Since the TV is hooked directly into the person's skin, the tone of this piece give me a feeling that the addiction's claws aren't as voluntary as one would think off the first viewing. What would once start as voluntary has ended up as something that is pushed upon them to keep them in such a state. This is all because I see the lips being sewn shut as a method of keeping the person silent from asking for help.
I hope this has helped in some way. Your work is lovely as well as thought provoking.

Thank you so much for your in depth critique! What you wrote hits the nail on the head of what I am gong for with this piece, which encourages me that it communicates the right message You make a good point about the subject becoming a victim; though I struggle to show that clearly with my other pieces. I will have to make future antagonists more aggressive, I guess. Thanks for helping me see that!
Your critique is very well thought out, organized, and thorough as always Keep up the good work helping this community!

This reminds me of some stuff with is probably weird to say but for that it is quite cool! Kinda reminds me of something I'd see as a sticker or spray painted on a wall or something. Overall though I'm absolutely loving the concept it's certainly quite neat!

From project comment fun simple drawing has a lot to say to anyone who cares to hear and see clearly without being overtly grotesque or singalerly suger couting you help to capture the influence of media propaganda the evil big brother who in fact does exist in the gaint nightmare billoinare cooperations of which only five in the Us controll 90% of all tv book news mags and web basically everything that we consume into our brains and without knowing become someone else's prodect thinking someone else's toughts.
The coloring is nice and I love the sorry don't know what other style to call it cartoon quilty to to it nice layers and shading.
The brain in the tv slowly being drained is genuineness tough it would have been finebwith just that the other plug ins an wires are nice touches the stiched mouth forget free speech so true the thing I am confused about is the bandage in the laft cornner ? It looks a bit large.
Another thing I love the tranmission feed lovely lines very nice.
Overall you came up with a satisfying funny piece on a serious issue something that is always a great thing for in artist to do.

Thank you for your honest opinion. I really appreciate it.
I get what you mean by cartoon, but "quilty" I am not sure of. Would you care to explain?
Haha, it is not a bandage, just a computer chip.
I am glad you enjoy it

Oh I just mean it wasn't like traditional cartooning kind of its own Flair to it and I know. I really did enjoy it like all the hidden meanings and stuff I don't know if you meant to put them there sometimes sometimes artist just make something sporadically and then people try to interpret it different ways which is what it's supposed to but still hope we can see more from you you have a nice Unique Style keep at it

Cool, I see what you mean. I did put it all there on purpose, but everyone interprets it according to what they think it represents; so both are true this time!
Thanks again 😊
