for now. this guy is HARD to design... not sure on cloths... what do you guys think? The trench coat thing on the left? or the cloak thing on the right? which is cooler?he'll appear later on in my web comic series Dan’s Voyage he's gone though a couple designs so far...

The trench coat is reading a bit like a bathrobe for me. That world probably be fixed if it was a different colour. Super rad under designs. Not sure if I'm completely sold on the poncho either, I guess you'd want to consider who this character is and the kind of things that would like to show about him to the audience.

I guess usual trenchcoat colours like black or brown or navy,I think the way you drew it is fine, the red's just messing with the reading. It might also read more as a trenchcoat if the collar was different, I think if you chose a collar with the pointy things on it rather than the shawl type maybe? Another thing that might fix it would be if he was wearing pants or didn't have his bare legs showing.

Both options look pretty cool, but I think I like the cloak just a little bit more.
