something to try next time, if you are so inclined ... drop another ight on the right hand side backdrop so that it blasts out some of the detail on the background, also, try rotating the egs a little more right angle to the upper torso, so that theres a sight twist in the figure, adds a bit of interest to the hip area, which can get lost when the jacket covers the curves
mentioned as ive ran intot he squaring off of the form issue in a similar situation

if you are comfy in photoshop, go get some cheap lamps from bunnings, not good for colour issues, but good to experiment with on the cheap prior to spending thousands

yeah, been there done that
i have become quite fond of my canon flash on a tripod using a remote flash trigger and reflecting it off a wall and/or ceiling for it's portability and ease of use

yeah u gotta put the flash on manual too. I ususally have it at or close to full strength. Then i do some test shots to get exposure right by playing with the cam settings. It is hoow i do basically all my indoor work
