sorry this wasn't posted in a more timely fashion. my old laptop decided to quit, and i went and bought a brand new one last night. (MacBook Pro, 15incher, 2.66. lovely). needless to say i've been playing and fighting with it most of the evening.anybody know how i can get my old calendar onto my new calendar? i've tried migrating it but the different versions don't see, to want to work with eachother.
anyway, here's a peek at yesterday's job.

About the calendar: What program do you use? There should be some import, and export settings.
I know Google uses iCAL, and, you can import, and export calendars, and sync to devices and programs like sunbird, or thunderbird which is a email client that can be configured in a lot of ways. Even if you're using a mac email program, I'm sure the calendar can be configure to use Google's email IMAP function, and calendars, etc..
What I do is use Google Calendar. Make the calendar(s) private, and make an iGoogle RSS syndication. This way, I can view my calendar on iGoogle with all of my other RSS feeds(also use iGoogle as my homepage) and add tasks with the applet, or simply go into the google calendar and add a more defined revision of daily tasks. You can also sync devices, and other external programs to view your schedule. It's almost like IMAP. All your information is kept on Google's services which have 99.9% uptime, and you can branch off from their services into other comprehensive programs without losing data, or schedules.

.mac/mobileMe, or whatever it's called now, should import calendars.
But if you don't have that, you could try a cheat. Don't know if it will work, but you could try exporting your calendar to an Iphone/Ipod, and then importing it to your new computer.
