My goodness, how this reminds me of The Libertine, Fantastic movie, if you haven't seen it make sure that you do, I'm thinking its right up your alley
You have this amazing talent at capturing that perfect moment, I work around alot of professional photographers and none catch things like you do.

I've not heard of the movie but I'll have a look for it next time I'm at the video store for sure, Johnny Depp rocks (I have a mancrush on him!)

And that's quite flattering Elissa, thank you, I guess as I say in journal I'm not so much a photographer as a story teller, so rather than concentrating on
the tech side of an image (like pro's do) I'm more interested in getting that perfect moment captured, so I'm extremely glad that is shinning through the images.

So when are you heading over here to pose for me ?

Sei così bello
Che guardarti fa male da morire …..
Ma di guardarti non mi stancherΓ² mai,
nemmeno quando i miei occhi
bruceranno nel tuo
splendore, e il mio cuore si
frantumerΓ  nel petto
per l’agonia di non
poterti amare come vorrei….

pink floyd's description of darkness:

The Dark Side of the Moon

eclipse

All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal.
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.
All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

"There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark."
- Brian Walters

Now that I have just noticed your personnal quote (more film than food), I'm reassured on my sanity. One third of the fridge being Polaroid 669 and Polapan. / Also just realized that you are from down under. Australians never cease to amaze me. / Keep up the fabulous work.

I am soooo gonna break into your fridge........

( I LOVE 669)

alwayscraving In reply to scottjamesprebble [2007-04-28 14:13:27 +0000 UTC]

I had read somewhere that 669 yields even better results once aged, when used in polaroid transfers which is what I use it for.. So, I am aging 669. I can certainly do whitout one third of the fridge if it's to drool over great prints later.

I agree, I got hold of about 16 packs they were basically giving away at a camera store in the city that was 4 years out of date, they seemed to think it would be no good, but luckily I knew better, it is bringing up some very interesting results.

I'm glad to hear that first hand. So it wasn't an urban legend after all. That means I am sitting on a treasure! (Well, it's sitting in the fridge.) And am now rid of all guilt of having hugged a third of the fridge for quite some time now. Thanks for letting me know.

And yes, a loyal watcher since November 2005, great stuff.

Which ones hun ?

MatildadeMedici In reply to scottjamesprebble [2007-04-07 15:41:33 +0000 UTC]

Ah... I looked back and these are the ones I'm pulling up:
Against the cold wall
Scream..if you wanna go faster
Sorry
Its all relative to the size
Protection from the World

It's not that I'm saying they're terrible pictures, my thing is I Know your face can do better. You are good at expressing yourself through your features and I think you should be confident in that more often (I.e. you don't always need other noise to convey the meaning of the picture). And as for other ones that don't fit into the props category, where it's just you, well... I think this picture, above, tops them for sorrow and anything else that can be caught in your eye.
I'm not sure if I'm saying anything different from the other comments around me, I'm just trying to be honest with you. I still admire your work, of course, and your creativity, so anyone that has something to say about that can suck on my toe

scottjamesprebble In reply to MatildadeMedici [2007-04-08 03:34:40 +0000 UTC]

I always think that my self portrait work is experimental, and it's very different to my usual work with my muses, sometimes I like to be serious and express something I am going through at the time, other times I just like to have a bit of fun, each one shows a slightly different side that makes up my personality, and thats never a bad thing. Thank you very much for taking the time to tell me what you think, I appreciate it.

What was it that was said in that Pink Floyd song? "We all have our dark side, to say the least...." And it's funny how often creativity comes from those darker depths.

Very moody shot, well done.
