Description
an abstract alien sunset or maybe a python swollowing an elephant: (the obscure reference from a truly outstanding book can be found here) [link]i've made over 300 (if not more) of these miniature marbling cards over the last few weeks, and with very few exceptions most have used yellow with gradients from black to gray which seem to be the most striking and allow for further enhancement and blending techniques later. these cards are intended to be part of a collaboration in March of 2014 the details of which will be forthcoming as the date inches closer and finished examples are ready to post.
made on 2.5 x 3.5 ivory ATC card stock using Yasutomo Traditional Chinese (ultra black) ink and yellow Adirondack alcohol ink
colors were floated on water only in a small tray

i looked at your reference. very funny.
the process you've used sounds very interesting.
i have experimented myself with various techniques to acquire certain effects for a stock account i'm part of.
some have even found there way into my gallery.
i like this one alot.
very organic.
for a collaboration no less. in 2014? heh. sounds like one of my lengthy collabs.

if you're interested in a very unique collaboration (and have the time), i would recommend Liz Cohn: lizcohn.deviantart.com/ and her -playing with a full deck- here on DA... over 2000 cards and nearly 300 artist from all over the world...still have time (if you hurry) to leap on this...deadline for the next show is end of this month. going to her gallery will give you an idea of what this is about. my skill set had greatly improved from the collaborations i've done in the past two years since i've joined this site

thanks Michelle. these are a lot of fun to do and not as messy as you might think.
very relaxing, almost meditative in some respects...

when stressed and needing an hour or so to
put aside things that might be aggravating,
annoying, or worrisome, doing something like
this can help by providing a small island of
tranquility...just enough to focus on things
as they really are and create something beautiful
at the same time
