wow, mananaggal... its a filipino monster ( aswang in our dialect ) its a female monster with bat like wings that feeds on men and babies... its known because of its name ( mananaggal - from the word tanggal which means remove ) it removes its torso at night leaving its lower part.... the only way to defeat it is to put salt on its lower bodies wound
well.. sorry if i somehow trolled ... but i was just happy that you noticed one of our country's feared monster ( i used to scare my brother ) i loved it that you got it's detail!! XD
especially the long tounge used for taking babies out of the womb

Hey Sema, yea I'm from the UK. This one was done for Quarto Publishing. They're putting out a book on how to draw and paint undead, I was lucky enough to be chosen to do this one. I'd never heard of it before, very interesting little beast she is

I've worked on a stupid number of RPG books, I've lost count of those. Mostly mid range publishers. I've done lots and lots of education work for Harcourt and I'm currently working on this Goblinoid project, which is similar to the undead book in content.
The thing is you have to keep going, the work comes in waves, some months I have no work at all.
It's just the life of a freelancer

No I'm not Filipino, but it is a great creature from their mythology and I was really happy to do this. Unfortunately there wasn't a huge amount of reference or description online, but I did find a decent description on Wikipeadia eventually
