Sharon and I went for a walk yesterday (12-10-21) in Lakeview Park, on Austin Lake, which is located in Portage, Michigan. Ice has formed on the lake, but not thick enough yet to ice fish. Next week we are going to get a warmup, so this will all melt. However, it will soon get cold and stay cold, so the lake will freeze over and hopefully be thick enough for safe ice fishing. In my younger days, I loved ice fishing. There is nothing better on a winter's day, than to pan fry some perch, bluegill and sunfish that you caught earlier in the afternoon. Serve with some slaw and fries and you're in heaven.
